Lol, is this really a controversial statement? Lonzo had one of the best freshman seasons of all time, while Knicks fans gloat about rim protection or something something to justify Porzingis poor rebounding and efficiency.

Gotta love beating up on 18 yr olds

I meant ball dominating college kids isn't even more impressive than KP's Spain numbers

Lonzo played kids, most of who won't snif the NBA, and was on a team that catered to him. KP played grown men, and former NBA players, in a league that doesn't develop young players

The league KP came from is unquestionably better than the NCAA

I dunno if that was a joke or not. Lonzo hasn't even played an NBA game yet. He won mvp of the summer league a feat that was also accomplished my Nate Robinson. So Lonzo has not proven a thing except that his father is awful. He'll be a good player probably but let him play first before saying he's better than KP.

Having said that....

Lonzo has already good fit around him. Bunch of athletic players and a versatile scoring bigman & rim protector. What can a playmaker can ask for?

We should take a look at Spurs & Mavs to how to built correctly around finesse big men.

WHat percentage of current NBA players are from the Spanish league vs NCAA Division 1? We being serious here?

What % of NCAA players either never go pro or never play in a league as competitive as the Spanish League?

Didn't Real Madrid beat OKC this year in an exhibition game?

I think the "competition" angle really doesn't hold much weight. KP playing in his league certainly isn't playing amongst NBA talent, no different than the season Lonzo had in college against players who likely wont make the NBA.

Ultimately it all comes down to development in the league that matters...the NBA.

KP can have a terrific career. Lonzo can as well.

Porzingis has had to endure the selfishness and horrible defense of Melo and Rose. We have yet to see the upside of KP6 with players who are not like that and where he *maybe* gets a chance to be something like the engine or hub of an offense.

I have high expectations for Lonzo Ball. The NBA needs a player like he projects to be. I have seen enough of the "scoring point guard" to last a lifetime. Lonzo Ball will make the game look pretty.

That said, comparing KP and Ball is the oddest of apples to oranges attempts. KP is going to be much more impactful on defense than Ball ever will, so that will go a long way to evening *value* because nobody will come close to the Nash-like gimmes that Ball will provide as a classic orchestrator. KP will have to develop a Tim Duncan-like passing game with a couple of direct assists to cutters but really excel at the hockey assist, if he has the right teammates. He has shown he has good court vision, but we won't know if the game will slow down for him until he has the opportunity.

The dude was saying Lonzo's production in college counts for more than KP's in the NBA

OK, everyone by now knows that Billy Goat does not like KP. Fine. But don't be ridiculous. Lonzo has yet to play a single game in the league. after he does, we can talk. If that boy does not change his shot mechanics, it cries trouble.

His shot shouldn't be too much trouble if he's just taking set shots or driving left

Dude won't be able to make pull up jumpers driving right without changing that shot though

I think he's saying it was more impressive, others brought up the playing against grown men part, so really I was commenting on all of it combined. Either way, I don't agree with the sentiment.

Performance of the individual shouldn't be discounted just because of the competition faced at the time.

agree. He needs a huge stepback or loads of space to pull that shot off. He has a very low release point, easy to block at the pro level.
