Well, that depth also let them rest AB if he was questionable. eg last year, he came back after 4 games but had some lingering issues. They just shut him down until he was 100%.

It would allow for them to rest him longer yes, but if the injuries were lingering that still means that he's injured and either hurts his play at the given time or shortens his playing career at the end, either way it's not a good sign. Even if they rested him 5 games longer than necessary, that's still 22 missed games which is really bad if he's one of your best players and you're reliant on him

Could you do me a favour and read my post above which states the amount of games AB has missed each season, also bearing in mind his injuries in the playoffs (like 2 seasons ago), and explain how he's never had extended health issues? I'm curious to hear about AB's health from a Celtics fans perspective as a feel you guys had the luxury of depth which softened the impact of his injuries. We don't have a quality backup like Crowder, Smart or Brown to fill the void and the missed games each season do cause me some worry. I also don't think it's acceptable to expect a player to miss games for "playing hard". All that shows is that he will be damaged and hurt much earlier which will reduce his prime years which we currently anticipate to be paying for.

I guess what i'm trying to say is that he doesn't have any long term health issues, none. When he takes the top defender role each night, dives on the floor for loose balls, heads to the rim all the time, he like every other player in the league is bound to have a few weeks of rest.

I would take this further but we have already discussed AB's injury history so I don't see much point having another round. Who knows how AB's health will hold up but at the very least you have to admit the amount of games he's missed is concerning considering his style of play and what he's supposed to bring to the table.
I said 15 games - if anyone wants to use the stats "correctly" feel free.
What I got from Billl's post is that he disagrees AB is a injury concern.

Here is the list from basketball reference showing the amount of games AB played each season.
2010-11: Games played 31 (38%) *Rookie season*
2011-12: Games played 64 (78%), games missed 18
2012-13: Games played 50 (61%), games missed 32
2013-14: Games played 60 (73%), games missed 22
2014-15: Games played 77 (94%), games missed 5
2015-16: Games played 76 (93%), games missed 6
2016-17: Games played 55 (67%), games missed 27
Disregarding his rookie season, he has only played 2 seasons where his health was acceptable. Bill's first 2 sentences in response to your averages was "That's kind an abuse of statistics. When you have small data sets with big spreads, an average isn't an appropriate metric to look at", which I completely agree with. With your averaged sample size of 4 seasons you have included his best two years which doesn't take into consideration his worst season missing a whopping 32 games. You are making him sound less injured than what he has factually been, which is the definition of skewing statistics. He's injury prone, and available data supports this. I'll repeat what I said to you last time we discussed this, Andrew Bogut is injury prone despite his injuries not being related, some players bodies just cant handle the stress of the NBA season, and at this point AB looks like another one of those players. I'm not at all saying AB will miss 10-30 games this season, I just find it dishonest to act as though AB's injury history isn't a concern, and speak like its not a problem.

The 2011-12 season was shortened due to the lockout, and he actually played every game that year. The Celtics also had a game canceled in 2012-13, so he only missed 31 that year.
His injury in 2012-13 was due to offseason shoulder surgery in both arms, which occurred in the offseason but lasted way into the next season. To the best of my knowledge, his shoulder injuries are largely resolved and are no longer an issue.
The only injury is be concerned with as a Piston's fan would be his Achilles. He missed 10 or so games with an irritated achilles, played a game or two, then missed another 10 or so games due to a re-aggravation. But, he appeared fully recovered in the playoffs, so I'd imagine he's past it. An offseason of rest only further helps.

He missed 2 games in 2011-12, but yeah that's my bad making it look like he was injured longer than he was, I overlooked the lockout season. I get what you're saying but either way he has a long history of being inured, related or not, and that is and should be a massive cause of concern. After having a healthy regular season in 2015-16, he got inured during game 1 against the Hawks, and correct me if I'm wrong but from what I saw and read, Bradley going down cost you that series. I think Bradley is a good player and a great locker room presence, I'm just worried about his health and I believe we could use him as a trade chip to get a better return than what you guys did as we wouldn't be forced, and the whole league know it

My mistake-- looks like basketball-reference.com switched up the game log display sometime recently. They typically show all games, not just what the player played. This does not appear to be the case in 2011-12-- My mistake.

He is frequently dinged up, I won't lie. I do believe his pulled hammy cost us in 2015-16, you are correct here as well. Personally, I think he's a gamer and that you guys have got a good player. He fights to play every game and does not milk things like a Jeremy Lin. Hope he works out well for you.
