Agreed. Sky is the limit for this kid. But I have him a better passer and FT than Shaq.

He's awesome. Defies all physical/athletic logic and dominates based off feel, IQ, and innate skill. Kinda like what Bird did in his era. Not at all saying he plays like Bird or will be as good as Bird, just that both transcend athletic limitations by just "getting" the game on a different level.

Would not be surprised if he's the best player in the league in his prime. Not saying it will happen, but the talent is there. There's a number of guys like that (Davis, Embiid, Giannis, KAT), but he's one of them. If it's not in raw stats (though I do think he'll put up insane stats in his prime), definitely in impact.

A 6-11/7-0 260-270 man that can move and is coordinated is already an athletic phenom, even if he's not a freak like David Robinson.
Once a guy has the right skills that's more than enough to be dominant in the NBA, even defensively if he has the smarts and puts the effort. Most likely not DPOY level, but +2/+2.5 is actually achievable.
I also think that we sometimes overrate the defensive potential just based on athletic abilities: the guys who ended up being really dominant were showing it since the very beginning, even if they sometimes were making rookie mistakes like biting to fakes or fouling too much.

:noway: :noway: This is getting kind of ridiculously now, Jokic was underrated to the point that he's being overrated. The guy still is playing less minutes than the average starting center in the league, let's hold off the best in the league stuff until he's among the tops in the league in at least one category or at the very least makes an all star team....

If you're comparing the four at the same young age KAT and Jokic don't hold a candle to Duncan and KG defensively, I don't think they ever will. Duncan might be the best pf to ever play the game and KG isn't far behind, I highly doubt either KAT or Jokic comes close to their careers. We should wait for one to at least make an all star or all NBA befor we throw out these comps.

Defensively yes, they will never come close to Duncan or KG, but offensively they are already better than them.
Jokic stats last season (per36) are better than Duncan's and Garnett's best seasons.
Towns last season had the best season ppg of all 4 players in their career with a better 2pt FG% and 3pt FG% than both KG and Duncan ever did (and Jokic was even more efficient than Towns!).

This is a projection, a forecast. Of course he's far from proven at such level, but that's what make these discussions interesting, educated guesses.

Moreover, best since Shaq... if we don't call Duncan a center, who's the guy to beat, besides the other young guys? Dwight?

Duncan as a rookie was All NBA 1st and a serious NBA candidate, leading his team to a ring in the second season.
Jokic has a lot to catch up, actually.

He's better than embiid and KAT.
imho he's the best C in the league already and he can become even better.
Hit the gym and develop a decent D ain't impossible things to achieve.

Not saying he wasn't great, because he absolutely was. But he also had a very good team which Jokic doesn't have.
If Jokic played for a contender he would have more accolades.
Jokic is already the best offensive center in the NBA (64 TS% and that's including his poor start of the season with Nurkic! Add the unreal passing and you'll understand) and I'm not saying the best overall just because Gobert had a huge season, but Jokic is 3 years younger. Next year he is all-NBA material if the Nuggets do well.

I love Jokic, but he's not close to Duncan same age.
Let's not go to far.

Why was he a 2nd round pick? What were the thoughts on Jokic going into the draft?

The people trying to use "where has he taken his team" can be applied to any 2nd year or 3rd year player in NBA history since most star players don't go anywhere in their first few years. So please get that crap out of here. This dude is crazy. You can't take away his impact he had on the team when Nurkic was gone and he started leading them to the best offense.

 Cousins n Karl Anthony Towns are better

Jokic has no defense (he's like top 3 worst defensive C in the league), can't respect a bigman that can't play D, its too important. He's not gonna improve much defensively, so no, can't be the best center since Shaq

He's hands down the biggest steal from the three choices, but I'd take KAT over anyone right now under the age 25.

i chose Porzingis because he's the only one i think that will become the best defender of the 3.

Jokic is a really good passer, but his defense is trash. I think Jokic can become something great, but right now pump the brakes, cause only Towns, KP and Embiid (when healthy) are best young bigs in the league.
