If you are leaving a team that you are irritated with why do you care what they get back in exchange for you?
Why would you want to weaken the team that you are going to.
If you felt disrespected then screw your old team. Kyrie probably overestimates his value and the degree to which he was disrespected but so what.
Carmelo has a no trade contract. carmelo does not have to do crap for the Knicks.
The Knicks and Cavs can bench Carmelo and Krie if they don't want them. If Kyrie is going to pout then playing Kyrie is like playing an injured player. Don't expect a good performance from an injured player.
On the other hand injury prone players should not expect good contracts in free agency and players that pout should not expect good contracts.
Tough luck for the Knicks, Carmelo the Cavs and Kyrie because they couldn't maximize their value. If LeBron was making Kyrie feel disrespected then the Cavs lost money by not figuring out how to handle the situation. if Kyrie was a spoiled baby then tough luck for the Cavs.
What is funny is Knicks fans and Cavs fans thinking that they should get full price for damaged goods. These guys don't have damaged bodies but they have damaged reputations. The Knicks don't think Carmelo fits in their future but Carmelo has a no trade contract. tough luck Knicks.
Kyrie doesn't want to play for the Cavs. The Cavs can play a guy who does not want to play for them which is a bit risky but might work out. The Cavs can try to bring in a professional communicator/ psychologist to try to fix their problems. we don't really know what Kyrie's problem is because nobody is really telling us what the problem is.
Or the Cavs can dump Kyri and take a loss in terms of talent.
