That is big return for the Cavs.
Bledsoe, Melo, and a #1 protected pick for a player who no longer wants to be there. That team competes next year easily. Just looked how loaded the team's rotation is.

Maybe so, but regardless of a fair return as far as player value on the court , Melo is not worth his contract , and it is not what the Cav's are looking for in a trade. Melo is not going to help the Cavs defend KD .In fact I would say his only value would be as a 6th man. Cleveland would not want Melo unless he was interested in coming there after being bought out.Which won't happen now that Phil is gone.Why do think Melo now only wants to go to Houston? It is probably really because the Cavs are no longer interested.
