Irving is way way way better than Knight and Bledsoe Isolates a lot too... Irving just looks prettier with his finesse and arsenal of moves.

I'm putting my tank hat on and would want the FO to trade Chandler and Bledsoe ASAP...
Doesn't even have to be Irving anymore... Maybe for more young players or future picks or expiring.
I want a top 5 pick next year. 76ers should finish high enough in the standings to pick outside of top 5... Suns can then get a big man...
Suns potential lineup of
Booker, Jackson, Ayton, Bender, Chriss, Ulis, Warren, Reed, Peters, Williams going forward into 2019-2020 season reminds me of Blazers when they had Roy, Aldridge, Oden and a young crew...
That team would be a future powerhouse assuming they get to developed on the court.

I know they're high on him, but you think Dallas would be interested in Bled + Miami and maybe another piece? I see stardom for DSJ and it would fit for our last year tank job, too.
DSJ
Book
JJ/Warren
Chriss/Bender/Len/Sauce all taking turns at 4/5
That's a hell of a core. Espeically if we add one of the 2018 Top 5s.

Don't think we need to trade those two to tank! Hey-oooo!

I consider myself an early no vote on the whole "Trade for Kyrie" thing. It never made much sense to me.

It is a nice fantasy, I agree, but I think we're going to have a shot at a championship with this core whether or not we're able to add another star in next year's draft. I think JJ and Booker will prove to be a helluva core.

Plenty of bigs in next year's draft. And there's ping pong balls. And best players drop. Plenty of paths remain open to us if we just stand pat and let these guys play basketball. Deandre Jordan (a) was a second round pick and (b) will soon be a free agent. FWIW.

Agreed.

No.
So do they, I'm sure.

No trades unless it makes us better for certain. Cant continue to rely on speculation. We wont find a better PG this year, and really, after sitting Bled for a month, he deserves a chance to run the show. Besides, he is our dance ticket for when Boogie Fever hits the league. Long shot I know, but there are not but a few players DMC said he wants to play with.
Interesting article/rumor on the Cavs holding out for a young star and hoping for Zinger. Any doubts they are preparing for a James-less future ? Chris could be considered that star as he certainly is by us. But I think McD says nuts to trading for a player who isn't enrolling long term in Watson's Daycare Center. Especially when the price is Bled plus plus.. Too much to lose for a risky gain. We need to stop the trend of replacing legit talent for projected or temporary talent. The core is set for the next 3-4 years..... Book, Jackson, Warren, Bender, Chris, Ulis, Williams. I can live with that .... at least for this year.
Probably long overdue; but FrankIy, I like the way you write! I dont always agree with you, but i usually dont agree with myself when i read it back a day or two later (sometimes ive gone 540 by the time I hit submit, h3ll, a few times I didnt even hit submit, i previewed and the crap was so disagreeable i erased it all; im certain ill have the first heated argumentive debate, point vs counter point, with one author, in one post, that i can report to the mod and +1 before I erase it all and scrutinize every anticipated response. Sometimes no response is the best response, in my case its usually the only response).
All 'bad jokes' aside, i actually tend to agree with you quite a bit. I think your just a little more cynical, or ballsy, .....or both!

What if the reported Paul George trade was actually more of a four team trade, with Irving and Shumpert going to NY, Porzingis and Noah coming here, Bledsoe, Chandler and George heading to Cleveland, and #4 and future CLE pick heading to Indiana?
It's more believable to me that we were willing to deal Bledsoe and #4 (or Bledsoe, Bender, MIA pick) for Porzingis rather than for Irving.

I think bucks would want Bledsoe. Brogdon Bledsoe backcourt would be pretty formidable... Then have Middleton and Giannis wing

Re: Trade & FA Ideas & Discussion
I would really like to see some variation of Suns/Cavs/Knicks trade where we trade Bledsoe and get Frank N. It would improve our odds of getting that sweet top-5 pick and even if Frank never becomes good enough of a lead guard, he has nice 3+d potential. He could really work as a tertiary ball handler behind Booker and (hopefully) Doncic or Jackson.

People are far too fixated on youth. Grow what we have, add do it organically, don't tank.

And I am not suggesting we should purposefully tank like last year, I just think we should play all of our young guys as much as possible and let the cards fall where they may. I think the tanking will happen naturally with that much youth but will serve them moving forward having that experience.

Recent reports suggest Gambo was right.
If Cleveland want a young star (in the Porzingis, Wiggins category) and Jackson and Booker are off the table a deal won't happen.

Hows this.....

W/NY getting one of our 1sts
Kudos Sunz....reading is as important as writing. Ive change my view on what we should do 3 -4 times. Seems we do nothing enough, so much, to where it becomes something, then we can't do anything.... and McD announces we are on his path all along. Saved by 'The Timeline'
Fortunately, I dont see how we will be much worse whichever way the wind blows.
What ? Me Worry ?

So Jackson is holding up the trade?

Im so over Irving at this point. He really isnt going to help THAT much to give up so many assets.

My two favorites, one is destined to be a Sun.

Pretty good artical on the top prospects in the draft: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/08/marvin-bagley-duke-2018-nba-draft-luka-doncic-michael-porter-deandre-ayton-mo-bamba

Re: Trade & FA Ideas & Discussion
I'd give 30 plus minutes to Reed, Jackson, Ulis, Chriss and Bender...
I call it... Investment Tanking.
Develop your players while losing and getting a top 5 pick.
Again... if the team played well enough to win, so be it.
Ideally, I want them to be within 5 points of every game and lose very closely... atleast every game would be fun to watch and would develop the players mental fortitude... will help them develop killer instinct and competitiveness..

Re: Trade & FA Ideas & Discussion
Bagley is pretty much second coming of Durant/Davis.... basically 6'10-6'11 ish forwards who can be turned into wing forwards or big forwards/center. Very skilled and talented. Bagley's numbers are INSANE... if the Basketball Gods could give the Suns a break, Suns would pick 1 and get Bagley as their future PF....
My second choice is Ayton... and likely pick too if Suns remain youth-driven in their lineup. Should fall around Pick 4 or 5.... fixes Suns need for athleticism at the Center spot and rim protection. Would also be a terrific downlow scorer, as they say David Robinson-esque.... maybe not as good or as athletically gifted... but imagine a longer and taller D.Howard, healthier too.

I don't see the Durant or Davis comps for Bagley. I honestly see him as a more perimeter skilled young Amare. Both Durant and Davis started at the perimeter, but Bagley has always been a big man. Just so athletic and worked hard on his perimeter skills.
Also, Ayton is nowhere near as athletic as Howard or Robinson. I see him as a center version of LMA.
