I hate Broussard. It makes zero sense. Gilbert would only do it if lebron commits. Lebron didn't commit, so Kyrie thinks lebron wanted him out because the FO wouldn't make a big move without lebron's approval???

yeah didn't make a ton of sense the way it was described did it.
but you have to wonder if that was the root of the issue KI has with the org for wanting to trade him, likely he wasn't aware Lebron's refusal to extend stopped the trade but only assumed LBJ was pushing for it maybe seeing LBJ reps or something in meetings with Griff Gilbert etc, or hearsay and miss-info from other insider sources or team mates.
Likely he still wants traded , maybe just not for the same reasons, regardless of how good the return might have been and whether or not that is understandable for KI to accept, now that it is out.
However if the only reason KI was unhappy with LBJ is that he thought he wanted him traded (at least if it got the Cavs Bledsoe and PG13)then KI may not be as disgruntled with his team mate as he is with the org, who's gm at the time is no longer with the team anyway.I'm sure they can play together if that was the misunderstanding.Whether KI wants to or not given his desire to move anyway is yet to be determined but he is under contract and if it was Griff who tried to move him,Griff is gone.
Starting to look to me like Griff was the real constructor of the trade(s) but when Gilbert wanted LBJ commitment or no KI deal, not only was the deal off ,Gilbert decided to part ways with Griff and make him the fall guy.
Or to less extent it could be Griff demanded assurances from LBJ and didn't get them so the trade fell apart, and Gilbert let him go because it fell apart, but that seems unlike Griff to assume he could get those assurances given LBJ's reluctance to commit at any point in his career and sacrifice his leverage.
All in all it could end up being LBJ's refusal to commit is what stopped the trade, & Gilbert or Griffs refusal to do the deal without it. Whether or not that ends up hurting the Cavs going forward is yet to be determined as well.

And I'm sure if it just got DONE, then watch things unfold as they may, Lebron would've been ok with the result. Instead we missed out on that deal, AND have a disgruntled Kyrie who we can no longer get said package for and then have to listen to inferior deals, and re-explore options after most of the big pieces are off the board. Then again, Kyrie MAY have wanted out to be "the man" before this trade option materialized, so who knows. It seems other fans more plugged-in than myself have said Kyrie had expressed his desire for his own team for a number of years now. But if he WAS bent out of shape over this proposed trade and thought LBJ was behind it, things should be able to be smoothed over since it seems Lebron was somewhat behind it NOT getting pushed through...

Re: Kyrie Trade Discussion Continued
People are really ignoring common sense and letting national writers (who really know very little about the Cavs in reality) dictate the talk about Kyrie requesting a trade.
I am in Cleveland and a season ticket holder and hear a lot of "local" talk, which really knows more than the national guys. Kyrie was always a moody type individual, and he has wanted out from Cleveland and Lebron for at least a couple of years. As it has been said, it wasn't what he signed up for, and most felt he wouldn't resign with Cavs to begin with...he has NEVER seemed happy to be here.
So, thinking the issue was a misunderstanding about that proposed trade is foolish. It also isn't going to be repaired. Now Cavs might just tell Kyrie, suck it up, we couldn't get anything near value for you, but he is eventually going to get traded, and also don't think it matters if Lebron left after the season or not. Ultimately, he is going to get traded before training camp, because that just makes the most sense for everyone concerned. I also think, it gives Cavs FO a chance to better balance their team, as well as prepare in case Lebron leaves...and no, its ridiculous to say, throw up your hands, you are going to stink for 20 years cuz Lebron leaves...that's called giving up without trying, and fan base would shrink to ZERO....I had my tickets two years after Lebron left (I was stuck with the year he left, and who would want to stay for the season after !!), as they had a plan (didn't work so great, but they had my interest at least).
I wish National writers would quit throwing things out there for hits. I can tell you Kyrie wants to go because he has never wanted to be in Cleveland, doesn't like not controlling the ball all the time and playing within the shadow of Lebron, and all the garbage and drama during the year that Lebron brings to the team. I think most hard core fans in Cleveland know it isn't because he thinks Lebron wanted that trade to go through.

I don't agree with that, maybe since he was told the team would be built around him and so he signed ,then following that LBJ returned changing the priority of the org towards their best chance of winning; building around LBJ instead.
Also I think the entire media analysis of the rift between LBJ and KI was likely never as bad as portrayed regardless of if KI wants to bring the ball up the court and be more of a traditional pg,despite that not being his strong suit.
He probably will still be traded before tc is much less likely, unless this pressures teams with offers to up their offer before the Cavs pull him back off the market. But the report about a misunderstanding is relevant if that was the icing that made KI request the trade, otherwise there is little else that has changed since LBJ returned , and so the real issue is the fact he was put into a trade in the first place followed by him thinking LBJ backed said trade.
There is nothing to be repaired between LBJ and KI if that is the only beef he had with LBj in the first place, the only thing that cannot be repaired is the fact he was on the block for a deal that didn't happen, knowing that puts less pressure on the org to trade him for less than the best offer even if it means him starting the season here.

We have over 100 pages in this topic discussing him being traded and now it might not happen?

Only way it makes sense is if LeBron committing was going to make PG committ too and that was the only way CLE would do the trade to begin with. I'm not sure Bledsoe + PG 1 year rental = 2 years of Kyrie.

Gimme the one year rentals. Actually gives us a huge shot at a title.
Paul George is way better than Kyrie and we also get a great replacement for Kyrie.

For anyone who think he will be moved for less than what Cavs want , maybe you should check this out.
If you still think that he will be moved for less than what the Cavs want in return before this season starts, I disagree .
If they don't get what they want then imo he isn't moved until the deadline 2018-19 season not this years deadline as they will wait to see if Lebron is still a Cav and KI still wants out after next season, but If Lebron Leaves after next year, they will trade KI next summer for draft picks and go into rebuild or wait till the deadline 18-19.

Bledsoe-JRS-PG13-James-Love should be Cavs last serious try for the title, so they should accept. And in best case scenario (title), chances for LeBron to stay in Cleveland after 2018 will grow significantly.
About current situation in Cleveland and attend to pretend now that nothing is really happening this summer and everything is OK, I will quote words from the past from one great man:

Just my opinion but I think Gilbert is the worst owner in sports history. I have no doubt that he'll drop the ball on this one.

Yes that deal had to be done especially considering they knew about Irving desire to play somewhere else. Now that the cats out of the bag his value takes a hit, plus he isn't helping by saying he won't sign an extension with any team.

The worst owner in sports history but his team has been to 3 straight finals and has 1 finals win. What other Cleveland sports franchise has a ring in the last 50 years? He also does what most awful owners dont, he ponys up and pays what he needs to pay to have his team compete. Cleveland had the highest payroll last year. Hard to say a owner that pays his team more than any other team and one that has won a championship is the worst owner in sports history. What Jeffery Loria did in Miami was criminal, or hey why dont we just look at the NBA just a few years back with Sterling. Didnt win anything and was a flat out bigot.
