Boston didn't want to touch a max contract to Thomas with a ten foot pole and now they still got this value out of him. Giving up that pick to maybe gain the chance to lose to the Warriors in the finals next year is pretty rough though. In fact, are the Celtics even a better team next year after this trade?

Good for Cleveland. Better next year, better in the future.

This draft might produce the next Lebron, Cleveland getting New Jersey's pick is big. However with how bad the East is, NJ might make the playoffs making this trade quite awful. High risk/higher reward

Ainge must be on a bad acid trip or something. After all this time, this is the deal where he decides to part with Booklyn's 1st?

For a second there I thought Cleveland was going to get IT, Crowder, Tatum and Brooklyns 1st.

Still a decent haul for a guy who demanded a trade.

Boston won this hard imo

Green font right?

I meant to type Cleveland.....I mean how could anyone think the gap between IT and Kyrie is THAT much? Terrible for Boston

This is actually really good for us though, now I'm not as scared of Boston when Giannis is in his prime.

Wow Cleveland got the Brooklyn pick too. I'm probably higher on Crowder than some people so for me this is a home run for the Cavs considering the tough spot they were in with Kyrie's public trade demand.

Kyrie, Smart, Hayward, Marcus Morris, Horford

Or

IT, Crowder, Lebron, Love, Thompson

I think this proves Ainge wasn't lying when he said teams were trying to fleece him. Whenever he called about guys like George or Jimmy Butler and offered at least the Nets pick they tried to make him bid against himself.

However, he became impatient. I like Kyrie, but this draft is going to be star heavy with the perfect player to take over for Lebron right at the top.

Wow I can't believe Cleveland got that much. I don't even like IT but this is a steal if that pick is unprotected.

Boston literally made their team worse right now and much worse in the future, I can't believe this!

Agreed, their only defense is with how weak the East is who knows where NJ ends up. If that ends up being a midround pick, Boston wins and has to watch Cleveland give IT a max deal.

Cleveland did quite well. Ainge has added his starpower this offseason and valued Brown/Tatum over the upcoming pick.

We couldn't top that deal.

What's the difference between IT and Kyrie bar 5 inches? This is weird. Good for Cleveland to get a nice pick when Lebron leaves. They are likely going to max IT though which is a horrible thought.

wait people actually think the Nets can make the playoffs this year? Even in the weak East there's very little chance they can do that

We couldn't top that deal.

Nobody in the NBA could realistically top that deal. Nets pick is a game changer.

No wonder CLE hung up on us ASAP. Celts give up an eventual top tier prospect and a really good role player for a small upgrade at PG, plus didn't even address their achilles' heal (Horford is their best big moving foward). Gonna be funny to see Simmons' reaction to this ****.
