I think it is easy to slam Boston because they lack experience and grit in losing Crowder and Bradley, but if you look at this trade, it is a great move for the future.

They have three excellent players in Irving, Hayward and Horford that will keep them as divisional contenders

They have a bunch of young guys that are going to be great: Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown Jayson Tatum.

When Golden State and Cleveland are past their primes, Irving will be leading a very strong team that is ready to win in a couple years.

The only guy who loses is Al Horford, who probably sees this team moving in a different direction.

Curious to see how Brad Stevens manages the defense with all these young guys and Irving, who is soft on defense.

Cavs are madd deep,

IT / Rose
(Wade) / JR / Shumpert
LBJ / Korver
TT / Crowder
Love / Jeff Green

They don't have a backup 5 and have way too many wing players

They likely have the worst record in the NBA so at worst it's the 4th pick in the draft.

Dude.... LeBron is leaving and its the Cavs.. they will WIN the lottery.. It's how the universe works.

Both teams get worse, fit wise imo.

IT has been battling hip injuries, 4 yrs older and Isnt as close to an offensive threat Irving is. When Irving is on, the man cant be stopped, doesnt miss a single shot and makes the craziest of plays. IT, on the other hand, can def be stopped.

Boston gets a lethal Offensive weapon, but lose a lot of depth in the process and will heavily lean on their young guys in Brown and Tatum, something that the raptors will be doing as well.

Not saying the Raps can beat the Celtics or Cavs, but I like our chances a bit more now compared to yesterday

Celtics gave up a lot, but damn they are still a deep team. Kyrie/Hayward/Horford/Morris/Tatum/Brown/Smart
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I marvel at Kyrie, but fear Isaiah.

You mean the Kyrie Irving who nearly averaged 30ppg in the last 2 Finals and made one of the most important shots in LeBron's career?

Even if D'Angelo Russell wins the MVP they'll still be the worst team in the league.

Zero chance if Lin and Russell are relatively healthy.

They were teetering on .500 when Lin was in the line up. They will be competitive enough to avoid being at the bottom. Atkinson is legit.

Lin
Russell
LeVert
RHJ
Crabbe

Really not bad considering how bare Billy King left the cupboards.

I think this is a win-win. Maybe the Cavs are the bigger winners (they are set for a follow up move for another start using the pick)
Celtics should've made a move at the trade deadline. Would've given up much less value then

The only loser here are the Raptors

Maybe ... and the cavs have a top pick to accelerate a rebuild. Move Thompson and love for picks, tank and get their own high pick and the youth movement begins. OR he and IT may resign and they use that Nets pick to bring in another star.

This was a huge cavs win in my mind.

I just don't get how the Cavs actually won a trade while moving a guy who demanded a trade. BOS had all the leverage but you couldn't tell that by looking at the transaction. Moving the BKN pick is borderline moronic tbh.
