Kyries knee is just as much as a worry to hopefully they both stay healthy.

Hips kill careers at a higher rate, and IT is a very small guard. But honestly, IT could Bynum it and not play all year and I would not have Cleveland losing this. Well done. Everyone sit back and grab your favorite cocktail, because tonight it is deserved.

Congrats Cavs fans. You destroyed Boston in this trade.

Appears to be a good trade for the Cavs. A few things which could hurt is if Thomas has more injury problems and the Nets are better than expected. Now flip my Pistons Thompson, Frye, Shumpert and that Nets 1st for Drummond and Leuer.

The Brooklyn pick looks solid to me.

I looked at depth charts today and tried to objectively project who has a worse roster than the Nets going into next year and came up with the Hawks and Bulls (assuming Wade is gone). The Magic were a consideration in bottom 5 as well. So much of the evaluation depends on what you think of DeAngelo Russell. Gun to my head I think Brooklyn has the third worst roster in the NBA which is really good news for CLE and that pick...

Not just that, but the Cavs got great value, too. Glad to see Crowder and the Brooklyn pick in addition to Isaiah Thomas.

not too mention the immediate depth upgrade to Tavares that Zizic is.
This kid is going to be really good, which I credit to Altman for getting him over some of the others we could have agreed to take back to make the salaries match. Not a huge fan of Crowder, but he's on a fair contract and he adds depth defensively and can knock down 3's. Good fit on a Lebron James team.
The biggest q will be I.T.'s health coming into the training camp. I expect we will get a similar player to what he was last couple seasons by December at the latest.
I expect they will at the least dump some salary and bring in another piece or 2 even if they have to waive a couple recent additions and eat the $. ( Calderon for sure) if not moved.
They also could very likely get a blue chip young player or definitely an impact vet to advance our chances against elite teams out west for the nets pick in a trade given the strength of next years draft being expected to be better at the top than this past draft, which was also stellar. If we keep the pick we get the stud in the draft instead.

This is best case scenario.

Lebron hasn't even decided to leave. We win this year and he stays and we resign IT.

Kyrie is better than IT and it's not as close as people make it out to be. Particularly in the post season. Kyrie doesn't care about defense except for a couple games of a year. But when he cares, he's considerably better than IT at that end of the floor. It is a slightly better facilitator than Kyrie.

Kyrie didn't do one good thing defensivley all last post season. He was by far the worst defender on the court against the warriors. There is not one positive thing you can give to Kyrie defensivley.

As for the other end of the court. An injured IT was really really good last post season. Now put him next to bron and see what happens.

Steals. That's one thing. Also, I think you're employing a selective memory regarding how easy it is to trap IT in the post season and how you could destroy the Celtics defense by getting him into a single switch of a PNR. Look, I've got a little opus I'm getting ready to write on Kyrie (tomorrow probably). I've always had issues with him. But he's better than IT - particularly in the post season when it matters the most.

IT can pass out of a trap though ( he's not derozen and Lowry) and he's a better passer in general than Kyrie ( love might get the ball)

The think is, the offensive talent around IT is night and day. Good luck doubling and trapping him when we have love, korver, j r and this goat called Lebron.

This is going to be great.

I love this trade for you guys. Zizic is a handy big body off the bench. Not super skilled but a good rim runner, smart player.

I love the addition of Crowder. He can do a lot of the heavy lifting defensively which could free up Lebron to concentrate more on offence. Great glue man.

I think the trade makes you guys better now and the 1st is just icing.

I don't know, I like IT but he has shortcomings (no pun intended). I don't know much about Zizic and will like Crowder more when he is on our team. We do need more of an attitude which Crowder will supply. IT tries to have an attitude but he just comes off as a pouting little bit$h. But he can score and create so hopefully he is healthy and can win me over.
The pick seems to be the best part of this deal, which doesn't necessarily help this coming season. But, depending on where it ends up being it can really help either keep Lebron here or possibly jump start the rebuild if Lebron leaves. If it is dealt to help this season the Cavs better damn well know Lebron isn't going anywhere or this deal will turn out to be a disaster.
I was really thinking if it was to be Boston, there would be a couple of firsts coming back so for all the talk of the Cavs fleecing Boston, I am not buying it. Seems to be a pretty fair deal for Boston imo. I was really hoping for the rumored deal from the Suns.

Huge bounty for a guy who wanted out. Cavs remain relevant in the contender basket, and also get a few nice building blocks for the future in Zizic and that BKN pick.

Great trade for you guys.

You are stronger with Crowder and IT, and you got the BKN pick in return!

Everyone loves the trade for you guys because you were in a bad situation.

Irving was disgruntled and demanded a trade.

Look at what Paul George and Jimmy Butler got in return and look what you guys got for Irving. Butler and George are better players than Irving.

Look at what the Knicks are being offered for Melo. Obviously Irving is better than Melo but you get the point.

At the end of the day you guys did amazing for a bad situation. Very lucky that Ainge was desperate because that's the only way you guys were getting such a great package at a bad time.

Congrats bros. Did not think it was even remotely possible that the Cavs could come out of this not only better now but better for the future with their newfound assets and cap flexibility. Think chances of Bron staying just rose significantly.

Conflicting reports out there about this. I personally, would have been irate.
