If Cleveland is smart, they'll trade the Nets pick for a win-now type above average role player.

They'll be foolish to trade the pick. It's their best remaining asset once LeBron bolts in FA...

They shouldn't trade the pick now, but i'd say it's 50-50 they move in at the deadline. Even if we aren't as bad as expected it will probably be the only lotto pick available so they should have their pick of players that could help them make 1 more run at a championship with Lebron.

They are going to keep the pick. Why? Because picking 5th or 15th is a lot better than having none at all.
I could see them flirting with the Grizz later on down the line depending on how the season goes. Thompson, Rose, 2018 1st for Gasol or something along those lines.

Or a package for Cousins. He'd give GS a lot of issues.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
Loving these pics of the team.
Caris has been working out - AC look spindly next to him
While we are on important topics, can I mention how much the B circle at the center of the waistbands on their new Nike uniforms bugs me. Dammit Nike
On a more serious note, can we agree that Caris -- in terms of personality -- will be the soul of this team.
DAngelo will be the off the charts talented younger brother. Quieter but really good guy. Serious and dedicated underneath the sometimes goofing around
AC I expect to be more reserved but super loyal amd grounded.
DMC might bring passion and loudness and humor.
Young Jarrett -- I want him to be Tim Duncan like. Is that really too much to ask?

Cleveland isn't gonna trade that pick unless LeBron tells them hes staying.
No way do they take a gamble when everyone thinks LeBron is gonna leave.
The 2018 draft is gonna be amazing.

Cleveland would be foolish to trade that pick. I don't think we're going to gift them a #1 pick, but it should still be mid to late lottery unless our hopes of this team being 3pt carpet bombers comes true.
Crabbe needs to hit the weights. LeVert looked more than capable of defending the 3 spot because of his IQ, active hands, length, and footwork. Not even remotely worried about him on either end of the court.

Re: 2017 Nets Offseason Thread III
LeBron is the GM over there right? If trading it further increases their chances of winning a ring, I'm sure he'd pull the trigger if the right deal comes along.
A mid to late lottery pick in 2018 won't be able to contribute to LeBron's quest for rings, not nearly as much as a guy who's got game right now. But even if Gilbert thinks about building long-term he has to ask himself. Is a mid to late lottery on the level of a Stanley Johnson, Frank Kaminsky, or Justice Winslow type guy worth pushing LeBron closer to the edge of fleeing in FA?
If Gilbert believes LeBron is 80% out the door or more, then sure, keep the pick and hope you'll be in the 2019 lottery yourself. If it's closer to 50-50, you have to believe a championship is enough to sway LeBron to stay. If he believes no possible move they make will put them over Golden State, then again, keep it. But I'd say there are enough teams out there this season who took a step back from last season to want to provide value to Cleveland for the pick.

Different personalities, I could see.
Most NBA stats aren't credible. At most times the people who interprets those data are biased, or the data themselves are flawed. Basketball is just too complicated with so many uncontrollable variables.

Are we seriously not going after another big, even if just for depth purposes? I sure we could swing a 1 year deal 3mil deal to some dudes. Festus Ezili, Dante Cunningham(39% from 3), or David Lee(that vet presence/post move teacher for allen). The current big rotation for me needs at least 1 more body.

If they can get Wade, they're gonna be pretty stacked in the perimeter. Maybe they can package the pick with Zizic, JR for a sign and trade for Plumlee or Noel?
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

After the way we've been treated by the celtics fanbase these past 3 years, we don't want your support.

I'm new here (as a signed member), but is he one of those that wished for an injury or something like that?
if yes, fine, he can go ...
otherwise, why not try to be courteous?
