GOTs
Spoiler:
#1a The time travel has been an issue all season, this episode it went full overboard. The Forbes article does say 2-3 days timeline, Raven takes 2 days, Danny on a dragon takes less. Didn't feel like 2 days, felt like 24hours max. Freezing over the lake would have taken 4 days (according to the Forbes article who credited reddit). Seriously in those conditions how could the 7 survive for 4 days??

#1b Also we spent 6 years adjusting to a world with a slow ass timeline of getting from one place to another and information being delayed as it takes time for information to flow, and we suddenly have information flowing faster than Skype Sessions and people travel faster than Amazon's 2 hour deliveries.

#2 The extras who died on the Battle of the Lake, should seriously be wearing Red star trek uniforms, because....WTF.

#3 Arya is acting weird, so if it's a massive plot to **** with LF then OK it's cool, but I really hope that's the case otherwise her character is turning to garbage.

#4 I've also wonder if healthy babies being turned by the ice king grow up into White Walkers instead of undead zombies?

#5 I agree with someone who said Bran sucks. Ya, eat a dick Bran. If he dies I might celebrate, his time warp abilities make me uncomfortable, that it's going to be all about Bran the cause of all things or the savior of all things. I just hope it's not some lame thing by Bran to finish off the show.

#6 I think Benjen wanted to die, the after credits they mention he was stuck between life and death and needed a purpose, so they found his person and killed him off.

#7 someone else mentioned, where's the dragon glass? Jon schlepped all the way to Dragonstone for it and came back with nothing but a few duffel bags of it but left it behind the wall? Just saving it for white walkers?

At the end of the day, we've been waiting 6 or so years to see dragons battle white walkers, so that was fun. I mean Song of Fire and Ice and ****, so we've been waiting a long damn time for this. It was fun to watch, but bittersweet with the holes everyone is talking about.

Spoiler:
Very curious about this. There has to be a distinction between raising them by touching them vs raising them by the Hardhomme "come at me bro" arms raise, yeah? If not, why the effort to drag him out of the water? And why the effort to get one baby at a time from Craster if it will just be one more foot solider/rotting zombie/wight.

But then there's the confusion of raising alive vs dead. You would think that matters. So are there different levels?

1. Raises masses at once with no physical contact, results in wights/foot soliders.

2. Touches something dead. Result, ???

3. Touches something living, result is a WW?

My nerd levels are skyrocketing.

I've been wondering the same thing.

Spoiler:
I think touching/raising something dead just raises an undead wight. Viserion might have required a more direct approach by the Night King to raise him from the dead because he's a dragon, and also because the Night King wants to bind him to the Night King's control.

Touching a live person makes them into a WW. And it seems to me the only person who can turn someone into a WW is the Night King, as was demonstrated when the WW brought Craster's baby to the Night King to have him complete the transformation.

What I want to know is whether the Night King can warg into the people under his control, including the WW and the Ice Dragon, because that would add a whole other dimension to his power.

Mr. Mercedes: Compelling, and super-creepy, but definitely on the tropy side. I thought our investigators were a little aloof at the end of last episode too, maybe to drag out the drama.

Finally watched Kong: Skull Island. Wow. Loved the hell out of it. Only wish I would have seen it in the theater.

I hated it. Perhaps even that is too kind. The Naomi Watts King Kong is better by miles. And not just a few.

I liked it too. It's a popcorn flick. I mean it's completely ridiculous so my expectation for those kind of movies are: fun, explosions, Samuel L. Jackson. Check, check, and check.

I don't think RS is saying it is a great movie. Just that he enjoyed watching it. Thats where I was too.

Yup. Big ass monsters fighting, SLJ chewing scenery, John C Reilly bringing the funny, and Brie Larson being hot.

SLJ was no fun at all. Nothing about it made sense, made me care about almost any of the characters, and was complete ****.

I like action fare. But not this one. At all.

This is pretty much how I feel about it:

Skull island was OK but feels like a movie I would've like a lot more when I was 16.

I thought the Peter Jackson version was better too.

That about sums it up for me.

I had no strong desire to see it but my teenage nephew wanted to see it so i took him and i was bored by it. My favorite part of the movie was when the credits finally started rolling and it was over.

Then again, these type of movies just aren't what i find entertaining anymore. CGI based action movies tend to bore me quickly, so i only see them when with others who want to. Same for most comic figure movies. I saw Spiderman when my nieces were in town and everyone liked or loved it except me. The first hour or so was OK, but then i started tuning out and the next hour felt like it lasted three hours.

Maybe that's why I liked it. It felt a little nostalgic. I'm a big fan of Commando, Cobra, Predator. It kind of felt like one of those movies. However, I will say I don't think I would watch it over and over. Commando? Predator? I would watch anytime.

I don't think either film was amazing but Skull Island was a lot better than that grueling 3-hour trash fire that was Peter Jackson's attempt at a King Kong movie. The "Apocalypse Now" Vietnam thematics and feel were a nice change of pace for the usual giant monster formula.

Kong was awesome, especially the island approach scene.

WAT. Are we already getting Episode 7 spoilers? Was there another leak?

No no no just the leaks from last November, 95% of which have been correct. I'm comfortable saying I know everything that happens on Sunday.

Bummer. For me that takes away from the viewing experience. I don't want to know.
