08-09 Magic and the case for NBA 2k18

So all of the classic teams in NBA 2k18 have been announced and somehow the 08-09 Magic have missed the cut. The most important players on that roster are in that game in some fashion.

Dwight, Jameer, Redick, Courtney Lee are all still in the league.

Rafer is on the 07 Rockets. Adonal on the 07 Warriors, as is Pietrus. Hedo is on that 01 Kings team. Rashard is on the 2012 Heat squad. Lue and Van Gundy are in the game as coaches. I think it's just a lazy, misinformed effort on 2k's behalf to leave that team out while having TWO classic Grizzly teams, the 13-14 Pacers, 08 Hornets, and the 2012 Knicks.

I tweeted at 2k earlier and was hoping if my tweet got enough likes and retweets that maybe we would get added. Idk. I think it's worth a shot. So maybe would all of you Magic Twitter peeps give this a go?

We are one of the easiest teams to do since almost everyone is in the game already in some capacity. I'm surprised the 2005 Grizzlies got in. There's still also the all-time team that will be in the game.

makes no sense considering some of the other teams that made it in, is it just because the current trend is to act like dwight was never a good player?

It's not a surprise at all. 2k (like most of the league) considers us completely irrelevant. We were one of only two teams not to be featured in the 2k trailer.

I mean, I'm not upset about the trailer. We haven't really done anything to warrant that. However, that 08-09 team is arguably the most successful team in team history, and is also the last team to beat Lebron in the conference finals. That's pretty damn noteworthy IMO and should be in the game.

I was expecting among those 16 new teams some teams such as the 1993 Suns, or both the 2009 Magic and Lakers, teams that played the NBA finals.

But no, we got the 14 Pacers, the 08 Hornets... C'mon. Not one, but TWO Grizzlies teams?

Why are most of those teams even in the game? 2012 Knicks??

I haven't played a 2K game since the Dreamcast days so I'm way out of the loop.

That is what 2k is saying. Apparently, that's the reasoning for why the 08-09 team wasn't included as well.

How many people care about the magic vs the knicks?

Magic have a decent international following though to be honest, i guess most of those fans are casuals though. Mainly as a result of the boom basketball had in the 90s in alot of countries and shaq era magic.

They did not allow their likeness to be used. Otherwise they'd have likely been in there.

I'll never play after last year. Which I hadn't played since 2k11. I'd much rather play madden. And I haven't been a football fan since tebow was at UF.

From what I've heard on Twitter Rashard has been out since 2K16 and Hedo is not in the game.

lol they can't get the rights to guys like Hedo and Rashard, but they've got Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Allen Iverson, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, MICHAEL JORDAN, etc.

Oh well, maybe next time around.
