Phil is definitely going to get his next start. Hopefully Igawa is sent down to the minors after this game and we don't see him for the rest of the year.

I don't think Igawa has much of a future with this team. Obviously there is no room in our rotation this year, and it doesn't look like there will be any next year (Wang-Hughes-Pettitte-Joba-Moose most likely). He'll always be a 6th starter ready to fill in if theres an injury, maybe a long reliever of some sort, but that's about it.

The only thing that Igawa has going for him is that he's left handed. Maybe he can turn it around and be an average starting pitcher, but right now he's below average....I don't think his stuff is that good and he doesn't throw strikes. It will be interesting to see whether he's sent to AAA or ends up in the bullpen.

Igawa has decent stuff but he's way too inconsistent with his command. If you watch the catcher prior to the pitch he almost never hits his spot.

I hope the Yankees come to their senses and skip Igawa with our off day (monday) and let Hughes pitch August 4th, vs. the Royals at home.
