This is so disingenuous from Cleveland. If it's this season they're worried about, why are they now after Brown and Tatum? We should see if the Celtics are into the package we offered for Irving.

Celts should be like "Abdel Nader. Final offer. Take it or leave it."

I'd tell the Cavs to go suck eggs.

The Cavs have some leverage, but if the deal blows up...then what?

The Bucks deal may no longer be available.

Just surprised more details of IT's hip haven't leaked out. Just not sure if we are talking about a guy who might not be able to play this season or not.

This trade was always too good to be true for Cleveland. It satisfied win now and win later in a big way. That never happens. Now we know why.

Let me get this straight; you're proposing the Bucks get involved by trading Monroe's expiring and Middleton for the BKN pick?

I'm not up for arguing some Raptors fanboy level homerism about the value of those two if that's what you're getting at. After all the similar arguments I had about Yi, Jennings, Bogut, and Jabari, I've had my fill. Suffice to say that those fans need not worry about anything like this actually happening and I'm sure they'll continue to get the Bucks teams they so truly deserve.

I don't know the Cavs have all that leverage. They're the ones stuck with a player who doesnt want to be there. Ainge should tell them to go jump.

The Bucks were reported close to trading for Kyrie Irving before the Celtics offer.

The Cavs appear to be no longer interested in the Celtics offer and the Celtics seem unwilling to increase their offer.

So Kyrie is going to become a Buck, right?

A Celtics 2nd round pick is basically an undrafted player. I don't think this deal gets done. And you know GM LeBron doesn't want this trade if IT remains not healthy to play at full strength or unable to play at all.

Is there a deadline to push the deal through, or they can haggle over this for a few weeks?

I really think this is a really bad omen for ITs health. When you have a singular injury in the middle of a chonic condition its usually a pretty specific thing.

In ITs situation he has had this injury since birth and essentially the ridge around the ball of the ball and socket of his hip has been rubbing against the outer edge of the socket enough to damage the lining between the two. The bones can't really have an acute incidence. The only thing left is the labrum. And depending on the severity of the tear it could be anything from rest to a hip replacement. There is obviously some disagreement as to where on that spectrum he is. But it sounds like he was hoping to be on a side he is unlikely to be at. And if he needs surgery, much less finds out it is a severe labral tear (I believe you need to actually get in it to see) he is out 9 months which means he wouldnt play a game until he signed a new deal. Say what you will about signing him to a big deal next offseason, getting a 2nd team All NBA player making 6m for a season is a big deal. If that is off the table and the Cavs werent expecting it to be off the table its a BFD.

BTW, Im not a Dr but I had this exact injury and when I had surgery they found out the labrum was essentially gone and 16 mos later i had a hip replacement. There is a real chance he doesnt play again. Suggesting the Cavs are definitively just utilizing leverage is pretty wild considering the possibilities still on the table.

Pretty sure they have a week which would be 4 more days (sometime Thursday)

This Kyrie thing for the Bucks would move us towards one of the worst D's in the league, but has the potential to be one of the most fun to watch.

Giannis and Kyrie as mega scoring options. If Jabari gets back to what he was as an inside scorer and gets his jumper going, he's a very dangerous 3rd option, and Tony 'Sniper' Snelly continues to do his thing, he could find himself with a ton of open looks.

Would be fun to watch this time just get up and run. There's no lead too big for a team with that kind of firepower, but at the same time, no lead WOULD EVER BE SAFE, with a defense like that. Sounds kinda fun. Might bring some new bucks fans into the mix, with 2 all stars, and lots of firepower. Entertaining at least. Not sure if that bad D is enough to get out of the ECF but would be fun.

Bucks won't be one of worst D's in the league.
This cannot happen with Giannis,Thon and Snell.
It was our system that was flawed and the key (wide open corner 3s) was well known around the league. I have been a fan of a Kyrie trade to the Bucks from day one, still am. After Bucks build chemistry throughout the season ECF is so close, in fact we are a Brad Stevens away to win it all or at least battle with the Warriors.

Pretty funny that Mallory says she wants to buy the Knicks on the same day she posts on instagram for everyone to donate to the hurricane victims.

Funny because a few minutes later she posted her text confirmation of her donation...$10...

I brought up defense the other day. With Kyrie, if we could be average in team defense i think this team wins 50 or more games. I think it is possible since Giannis and Snell are plus defenders and hopefully Thon keeps improving.

Was over at RealCavsFans last night posting in this thread.

http://realcavsfans.com/community/index.php?threads/welcome-isaiah-thomass-injured-hip.48253/page-42

They are wildly overinflating Kyrie's trade value based off what they hypothetically got from Boston (I.e. Had IT actually been 100% healthy). They aren't getting that from other teams. I was pushing the Mids, Brogdon, #1 deal and they also wanted Thon or Jabari in the trade. 8-)

The understanding fans of Boston will welcome back Lil Zeke, because their warmth and reasonableness is legend.
