Also, after Staley left, John Theus' pass protection was downright pitiful at times. His injury better be minor.

Mostert with the 87 yard TD on 3rd and 23. Impressive block by kittle on that play.

Witherspoon's footwork was a mess in the 3rd quarter. Multiple times it cost him.

49ers won't score another TD like the Mostert one on that defensive alignment one time in the next 5 years. Yikes. P-R-E-S-E-A-S-O-N

Mike Mayock following the '14 draft on Vinnie Sunseri:

"Some day, he can be a starting free safety."

 Love ya, Mike. I really do, but no, he can't. Trying to think of another player who went to Alabama that I knocked as much as him for on field ability. I routinely got on Rolando McClain for coming off as a complete idiot, even before his NFL decision making, but that wasn't so much because of the on the field stuff.

Yeah, Sunseri might be the biggest one for me of all the Alabama guys over the years.

Game confirmed what I've been feeling in that this will be about a 6 win team this year. Saw a lot of positive from the starters but it's clear is still a lot of work to be done.

Hoyer is a definite upgrade to QB in what was on the team in recent years but he's still Hoyer in that he has moments where he looks great but he still has moments where he misses on throws he should make or he looks a little lost in the pocket but hopefully good Hoyer outweighs bad Hoyer this season.

Pass blocking has been surprisingly great this preseason and that looks like it'll be an actual strength of the offensive line. Run blocking on the other hand hasn't been so great. I don't know how much of it is Hyde not hitting the holes like he should in the scheme but the line never seems like it's getting much push though.

Defensive front looks to be a strength as well as multiple players were getting penetration and Bradford was getting a lot of pressure. Dumervil looks like he'll be a really nice pickup and Armstead has been effective as well.

Foster looks like Patrick Willis out there and it seems like he's getting better every game so far. Guy just has "IT" and he'll be a stud in the league IF he can stay healthy and stay out of trouble. But if he can stay on the field than the Seahawks might regret trading that pick.

The Secondary is the biggest concern that I can see right now. Not sure if it was the scheme, CBs, or a little of both but too many easy completions to open guys find soft spots in the coverage. It didn't burn them this game because the Vikings offense isn't great but good offenses will rip them apart if they keep allowing that.

Foster already looks like one of the top rookies in the league, wouldn't surprise me if by seasons end he's looked at as one of the best LB's in football.

I think the team that will ultimately regret Foster will be the Raiders. A contender that badly needed LB help. True that they also needed a CB, but there is no question between Foster and Conley who the better player is.

Reuben Foster impressive but still didn't make PFF's list of top 49ers against Vikings

http://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/108436-reuben-foster-impressed-still-didnt-49ers-against-vikings/

Lynch was the story for me the other night. If he wasn't going to appear on this list, oh boy...

Greg Cossell was very complimentary on the Ross Tucker podcast. Says Kyle is one of the best at breaking down the progressions for his QBs based on the anticipated defenses.

He also said the DL and Forster were flying around.
