This kid is always a summer league all star isn't he? Could be a camp deal our or our second/last two-way deal as we'll likely carry a fourth pg in some capacity.

Two years with a player option on the third?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Surprised SVG could stop himself from overpaying someone.

He's a solid get for the two-way contract - better than the other guy we used it on. He's your AAAA-ball player in baseball, too good for Triple A but not good enough for the majors. He'd be a decent 3rd stringer, but not a guy you want to have in your rotation and thus never caught on as 3rd guard anywhere (should either other two pg's in front of him be injured).

We've now signed two players to those two-way swing contracts off the Dallas Summer League team that beat us in the SL championship. The guys off our squad that I thought we'd look at - Lorenzo Brown signed with Toronto on a 2-way (probably good to get into another system) and Pierre Jackson signed overseas to a seven digit deal IIRC.
