I got to give Sean credit, he's one motivated mofo. If HALF of the players in the league were as motivated as him and didn't rely on talent and athleticism alone, the NBA might be the best professional sports league in this country.

I like the guy a lot. Sucked last year when we were hurting and they tried him at PG and it just didn't work. I think he lot a lot of respect from people, but this guy can grind and work. I'm hoping he sticks around in the long term.

Spencer / Sean / Caris is a nice trio to have off the bench. Good diversity in skill set in that group with great shooting as well.

He looks skinnier! Hey, there is hope.

He would be nice if Markinson think he could be fixed mentally and signed to a small contract.

Just to add depth and a change of pace off the bench with his low post scoring and rebounding.

He is talented and not old

I like Plumlee and would rather have him than Sullinger. To me Mason is a more proven NBA vet who could make a more meaningful impact right now with the subs. I know he doesn't shoot long range shots and is more of a block and lob guy, but I don't mind that. You don't need to have a center who can shoot bombs... i.e. Zaza and McGee on the Warriors. I would assume Mason wants more money and Jared is apt to taking less, which is why we're hearing this now about Sully.

TBH though if Sully winds up here I won't be distraught. He's not aiming to be a starter, or even a key player off the bench. He's really a minor reclamation project and more of a stopgap until Allen is ready. That could be this year or next. Giving Sully a 2 year/3 million deal seems likely.

The real goal though is to get Brook back here once MozGod's contract is up and have him come off the bench.

Flowers is going to get Manning killed. Jerry Reese has really let the O Line go to hell. We've got a sick D and insane weapons and none of that will matter if Eli is going to be skittish because he can't trust the guys in front of him to give him time to hit the receivers. :noway: :nonono: :nonono:

I won't forget that stretch he had when he first came here. Dude was burning the rim down...he earned every cent of that contract. He fell back to earth last season shooting wise and had a rough time trying to fill in at PG but his role should be more simple this year: come in and score. that's all he needs to do. we have plenty of ball handlers with Lin, Russell, Dinwiddie, Whitehead, and LeVert. Skil should be in microwave mode especially during games where we made need that boost. There were more than a few games last season where the team was struggling and he'd rip off consecutive scores to keep our heads above water.

yeah, this is probably the worst time in basketball, the dog days of late summer and early fall.

I am super excited about the team though this year. Whether we sign Sullinger or someone else or stand pat, it's been a heck of an offseason.

Lopez gone, but Russell, Crabbe, Mozgov, Allen, and Carroll all in now in Nets uniforms. Each one of those guys looking to impact the team in their unique way... especially DAR being the hopeful new face of the franchise. Lin rejuvenated and ready to lead. Levert a year older and coming into the season healthy. A bunch of young promising guys like Rondae, Whitehead, Dinwiddie. And we were able to snag a first round pick along the way.

This season will be fun as hell.

CLE are idiots.

They shoulda voided the deal. BOS has more to lose and force em to ante up more instead of just a measly 2nd round pick.

Also CLE is gonna get screwed when BRK wins like 35 games and that "guaranteed top 3 pick" turns into a #9-12 pick. Just shows how clueless the CLE FO is right now.

If they were smart its either add another decent piece, at bare minimum a MEM/LAC 1st, or put stipulations on when the BRK pick conveys. If its #1-6 it conveys, if its not, then they take the LAL/SAC future 1st.

Dumbasses are gonna get left holding the bag. A crippled IT who cant play, a good but not great lotto pick, and 2 nice but non impact pieces in Crowder/Zizic. I mean, if they were rebuilding then fine, but supposedly going for a 1 year hurrah. Haha, suckers.

Damnit... it means BOS wins again and the legend of Trader Danny Ainge grows... blegh

Don't forget about Acy he's the epitome of what Brooklyn Nets should be all about hustle and determination.
If the team wants to bring Sullinger in I'm with it for the vet minimum it can't hurt.

How about iHead tho?

There's gonna be some competition.

His problem was more defense than anything. Did he have that argument with Brook last year about D and then started sucking on O afterwards?

The Positive

“We sat with Allen [and said]: ‘Look, we think we can help your game. We think we can take it to another level. Let’s not just be a shooter.’ And he’s excited about that. He’s got a chip on his shoulder, and he wants to take his game to another level, all-around facets. It’s not just shooting. It’s defense. It’s everything.”

“It all comes with experience,” Crabbe said. “The more and more that I’m put in a situation, the more and more that I’ll learn: How to run [the pick-and-roll] effectively and do certain things out of it. It’s what any basketball player could ask for in the NBA, for an expanded role and just do more things.”

Atkinson is going to succeed because he loves the game, has no agenda and just want to work and make guys better. he doesnt care about politics or the media or expectations or attitudes. he just wants to do things right and work. reminds me of a young bellicheck. not that he will be the GOAT coach, but in approach and ability to really block out the noise

well said. This is the most positive I've been in years and this is with the expectation of a 28 win season. We are headed in the right direction and stockpiling young talent at the correct time. future is bright, we'll add two new young pieces to this core next summer and in 2019 our pick comes back.
