Dude...
Seriously though, I think the conventional wisdom on this is wrong. I think the chances of this getting voided are about 50/50.

It's a game of chicken. Boston will absolutely throw in the 2nd, we just have to wait until the 11th hour until it's official.

Among players who attempted 200 or more 3's, Kyrie isn't even in the top 50. Not sure what you're referring to

If the Cavs feel like Boston was shady re: IT's health, and they may, then a 2nd might not get it done.

The deal was highway robbery in the first place. Crowder, Zizic, BKLYN 1st, Celts 2nd is far better than what the Bucks have on the table right now. It's also likely far better than any other team in the NBA can offer outside of an Anthony Davis package (why??).

Think Kyrie would be a better fit personally.

But, Bucks gonna Bucks!

I have Middleton as a better two-way player than Crowder. I have Brogdon as a better prospect than Zizic. The picks are unknown but we'll assume that the Brooklyn pick is at least *better.* Do I want a better team right now or a better pick? I want a better team. In the aggregate, Boston's package is probably *better* but so what. IT being hurt really changes the equation for me.

They aren't offering it publicly. They are completely denying it publicly.

With Kyrie gone, there's no chance CLE can beat GSW this year. No package for Kyrie (outside of Anthony Davis) will do it. So then we are looking at Y2 and beyond. I personally think LeBron will be gone, but it's not for certain.
You're willing to forgo the long-term benefit of the Boston package, potentially turning what might have been a 6 year rebuild into a 2-3 year rebuild in order to improve your odds of beating GSW from 12% to 18%?
I like CLE, I'm a Bron stan, I hate the monstrosity that is GSW, but I think Boston's package, with or without a pristine IT, is the better option.

Because the long-term benefit of the Boston package has some pretty big question marks next to it and the issue isn't' whether IT is pristine, it's whether he'll even be available. The only thing giving me pause is Middleton's hamstring. Was he still recovering or is he going to be a different player now? No one can say for sure until he plays this year.

Completely agree with you. And I know you are assuming LBJ is staying but most believe he is not. So unless the Cavs are comfortable with a core of Middleton, Malcolm, Thon, Love, and Thompson going into the future (borderline playoff team); I would rather take my shot with the Brooklyn Pick
