Georgia upset Lithuania. Pretty good team, but they almost cost themselves a game by thinking Pachulia is offensive threat. What is with them and Pachulia, why do they think he is so great? Giving out national medals and all, because he is in the NBA? Dude is not even the best player on the team. On to France-Finland

Shermadini is an offensive beast compared to Zaza.

Is there an easy place to watch these? Thought ESPN3 would have them but looks like only the earlier ones.

Nando coming back to life in the second half. After Dragic and Schroeder performances, I almost felt silly by ranking Nando higher than them :D

Hezonja, know he looks like a bust.
Saric, Mirotic. Overrated prospects, although Saric has a fantastic future and has the chance to become an all-star someday.
Mirotic was always overrated, don't get me wrong, he's a good player if he is properly used in a great enviroment, but I will always remember the threads comparing him to Kukoc during his NBA 1st year...with lots of people expecting him to have a better career than Kukoc.

Hezonja and Mirotic again...
Btw, all were born in February except Saric in April.

Hezonja euroleague stats in year he turned 18:
GP: 2, MPG: 9.5, RPG: 2.0, APG: 0.0, PPG 2.5, FG%: 33.3, PIR 1.5
When he turned 19:
GP: 14, MPG: 6.1, RPG: 0.5, APG: 0.2, PPG 1.6, FG%: 42.9, PIR 0.9
When he turned 20:
GP: 22, MPG: 16.5, RPG: 2.0, APG: 1.0, PPG 7.7, FG%: 46.2, PIR 6.1
All with Barcelona

Mirotic euroleague stats in year he turned 18:
GP: 2, MPG: 3.5, RPG: 0.0, APG: 0.0, PPG: 1.0, FG%: 50
When he turned 20:
GP: 29, MPG: 17.2, RPG: 3.8, APG: 0.6, PPG: 8.1, FG%: 52.7
All with Barcelona

Saric euroleague stats in year he turned 18 with Zagreb:
GP: 4, MPG: 15, RPG: 4.5, APG: 0.5, PPG: 2.0, FG%: 20, PIR: 0.8
When he turned 19 with Efes:
GP: 27, MPG: 24.4, RPG: 6.4, APG: 2.3, PPG: 9.9, FG%: 43.3, PIR: 12.6
When he turned 20 with Efes:
GP: 24, MPG: 22.4, RPG: 5.8, APG: 1.5, PPG: 11.7, FG%: 50, PIR: 13.5

Doncic euroleague stats in year he turned 17 with Real:
GP: 12, MPG: 11.1, RPG: 2.3, APG: 2.0, PPG: 3.5, FG%: 40.7, PIR 6.2
When he turned 18:
GP: 35, MPG: 19.9, RPG: 4.5, APG: 4.2, PPG: 7.8, FG%: 50.5, PIR 13.3
All with Real

See the difference? See why Doncic is considered different type of prospect? He is still a prospect that can fail, no doubt about it and you may be right at the end. But if right now you put him in the same basket as Hezonja and MIrotic, you are the one that is wrong.

From other thread:
Jokic: never played in Euroleague, only Serbian national and Adriatic League
Nurkic: 6 games in Euroleague averaging 3.7 minutes 0.7 RPG, 1.8 PPG (as 18 years old). Other Adriatic League and Croatian national.
Porzingis: never played in Euroleague, only Spanish national league and Eurocup
Zubac: never played in Euroleague, only Croatian, Adriatic and some FIBA Euro Cup (4th tier european league)
Zizic: 17 games in actual Euroleague, 20 games, 17 started, 21.9 MPG, 9 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 0.54 APG, 13.3 PIR (as 20 years old)

It isn't a huge difference, but anyways...I never put him in the same basket as Hezonja and Mirotic. Doncic is already better than Hezonja compared to any year in Europe by the croatian, and he is on pace into at least tying Mirotic in PIR next year...so thats what I'm saying, Doncic is a better prospect than both, but still overrated, since he isn't a top prospect for me, as someone that you choose to build around him.

Markannen show in Helsinki, 9 points in OT for him.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Ohhhh yeah :D Coach lets Markkanen on bench for most of the game, then puts him to clutch time on fresh legs. Markkanen proceeds to dominate in late 4th and OT. Great win.

Don't understand why fournier didn't take last shot both in regular time and in OT.

First day trend - NBA guards showing the reason why they are in the NBA, complete ownage, just a reminder of how good the league is and why even some Euro A stars fail to keep up.

First day trend - 2017 lottery picks take over fourth quarters and over times showing the reason why they were picked that high

What a win for Finland. Lauri Markkanen and Jamar Wilson were amazingly clutch in the 4th and OT. Tuukka Kotti and Sasu Salin were really solid throughout the game and kept us afloat when we couldn't get it going offensively. Koponen didn't score a lot today but he created a lot of opportunities for the rest of the team (8 assists). Shawn Heff had major foul trouble throughout the game and only played around 15 minutes. Erik Murphy had a poor game.

Finland didn't win this game because they shot well (as has happened in the past). On the contrary, our 3-point shooting was poor for most of the night (with the exception of the 4th and OT where we did knock down some key 3s). Finland won today due to its good defense. We forced France to commit 23 turnovers and that ended up being enough to counter the difference in FTs (28 to 13) and rebounding (44 to 32).

Good lord we have no heart. I'm happy for Finland though, they have some of the best fans I ever saw live.

I wouldn't be so hard on your team. You're still good and you will most likely advance to the next phase. It's just that Finland is a lot better than people give them credit for. They're one of the most well-coached teams in the tournament and with Markkanen on their roster they have options that they didn't have a couple of years ago.

You do seem to have some problems on your frontline, though. Seraphin didn't look healthy, Lauvergne was not good and Poirier was straight-up horrible. Labeyrie, on the other hand, was a revelation. He was really, really solid. I have no idea why he didn't start in the OT.
