What do you expect from Ron Baker , Frank Ntilikina, Ramon Sessions and the point guard position as a whole in 2017-18?

Ron Baker who basically brings to the table a poor man's marcus smart is the player I hope can steady the point guard spot...til ntilikina can take it from him .

generally a 1st year player going into his 2nd year shows the most improvement on both sides of the ball now that they know the league a bit and what they can and can't get away with . so i expect eventually the frank and ron duo giving the team needed depth and a good advantage in defensive versatility .

i am basically hoping baker becomes passable offensively , make enough shots from outside they have to honor him and that his defense gets better with experience , especially team defense (he was pretty good man to man), if in a couple of seasons is near patrick beverly in production i'll be more than happy , as it stands he was abysmal offensively because couldnt be relied on to make outside shots, he was decent in college so i expect him to adjust to the speed of the nba and start being decent from the outside again

in Ntilikina i dont expect much , he is just 19 , if he can simply adjust to the nba's pace and spacing i would call his season a success , he shot 42 or 43% from 3 in international play last year , so in time he'll probably be an elite 3 point shooter in the nba in all honesty if he can provide the optimism of dejounte murray in san antonio , i'll be more than pleased , just dont get destroyed on defense , make a passable amount of outside shots and complete the occasional pick and roll...all are supposed strengths of his game

ramon sessions is a proven commodity who i hope doesnt play much, if he is playing a significant role chances are it means injuries or faltering play from ron and frank, in truth i hope chasson randle passes him on the depth chart come training camp
Its because I'm green isn't it?

I actually want to see 2 of the 3 of them on the court at the same time together so the offense is more fluid and free flowing. like how Jeff had a 2 PG line-up in Phoenix.

Baker is solid, I think he can be an eric snow, Hinrich type PG if he can just improve his jumper

Frank IMO may have trouble against quicker PG's when they pressure him, and he is going to have trouble beating them off the dribble. I really hope he developes a post game so he can take advantage of these smaller PG's. I don't really like the Timmy and frank backcourt pairing, its not enough ballhandling and quickness.

Sessions, I don't expect much. just a placeholder until frank is ready which may actually be sooner than people think.

We are going to get destroyed at the PG spot.... so I guess it fits the plan of only winning 10 or fewer games...

We could get overly optimistic about our youth and get hype, excited etc.. because they are young but this is a Fact!.... no NBA team has a worst PG rotation. ... period!... so we are on course for draft success... LOL...SMH

A 2018 top pick. This should be clear. I guess sessions will be a good mentor and professional.

We're gonna be out-talented, so play hard, play the game the right way. Try to become the most annoying defensive backcourt to other teams.

1 of 2 scenarios.

1. Frank will start. Will hut rookie wall hard, Ramon becomes full time starter doing 25-30 mpg. Baker will play 15-20 in the beginning, 20-25 after ASB. Eventually he emerges, by default, as best PG for knicks at becomes starter towards the end.

2. Sessions starts. Knicks suck. Give starting gig to frank after ASB. Knicks still bad, but frank slightly improves. Baker will play 15-20 in the beginning, 20-25 after ASB. Eventually he emerges, by default, as best PG for knicks at becomes starter towards the end.

Not much, tbh

Frank is a 19 year old rookie PG, rookies typically don't contribute much, and PG is the hardest position to trasition to in the NBA

Both Sessions and Baker are at best solid backups who shouldn't be starting for any team

I'm guessing improved defense but we're going to take hit on actual scoring output from the guard position this year. Frank will take his lumps and Sessions is what he is at this point... I'm interested to see how Ron progresses this year. He showed me good flashes last year as a cutter, ball handler and passer. Seems like a kid who works hard. It'll be interesting to see if he adjusts to the 3 point line well this year. If he does I would really like the idea of starting him and Frank in the back court as the season progresses. Defensively a Frank and Baker backcourt can be stout.

Sessions should only play if they are injuries. At his peak, he was very meh. Now he doesn't do much of anything. Baker and Frank should split PG duties. Both will be solid on the defensive end. I'm hoping Ron found his shot. If so, we will have two solid catch and shoot PGs. I don't expect either player to light it up but a combined 18 ppg with good percentages and around 7-8 assists sounds about right.

Kp is not a franchise player yet. The potential to be one is their but he hasnt proven he can carry a team by himself.

I think we'll see Frank progressing and Burgundy improving his shot. I look for Sessions to be the "vet guard" who does better than Sasha ever did that for us. That doesn't mean he'll be actually good, so we want Frank to develop. Either way, we're going to get more passing and plays set up by the PG than we had with DRose.

I expect them to the worst PG tandem in the league. It is what it is folks. Knicks would absolutely have to have best case scenario for it to be otherwise and even would still probably be worst PG tandem.
