I expect that I'll get a healthy bonus since I get paid by the post on this board, double for very angry posts (yes, it's in the fine print of my renegotiated contract which BTW also includes a NTC).

Seems like a kid who works hard. It'll be interesting to see if he adjusts to the 3 point line well this year. If he does I would really like the idea of starting him and Frank in the back court as the season progresses. Defensively a Frank and Baker backcourt can be stout.
3 guard rotation perhaps? Cuz Timmy is starting.

Re: What do you expect from Ron Baker , Frank Ntilikina, Ramon Sessions and the point guard position as a whole in 2017-
I expect Ron Baker to bathe in the money that we foolishly gave him. Another ridiculous contract given to an underserving player.
And don't get me wrong, I like Ron. I think he's good for the team and a good story, but he's a hardworking player that's at best a backup. We were only bidding against ourselves there. He would have happily accepted half of what he was given.
I do like the idea of trying to build a culture though. Rewarding guys for working hard and fitting in with the team. Spurs do it a lot, so maybe it wasn't such a bad idea for the Knicks to take care of their own.
That's the only justification I can see for it though.
as far as Frank...I'm not sure what to expect from him. I hope he's a starter from day #1. There's no reason for him not to be. If he can play tough defense, score 10-11ppg and shoot 35% from deep, I'll be happy.
Judging by what most have said, Frank doesn't strike me as the guy who's gonna pour in 20ppg per night, but he does look like he has the tools to affect the game in multiple ways when he's on the court.
If he plays good defense and can switch the between 1/2 with ease, score 15PPG, dish out 6 assists and snag 4-5 rebounds, then we've got ourselves a very good player, and, more importantly, a player who fits like a glove next to KP. I'm talking about Frank in his prime here, not what I expect from him next season. If he ever starts hitting 38%+ from 3, then he's going to be a Swiss army knife killer. I like the idea of he and KP on the court together. Outside of guys who are just purely more talented than him like Fultz, he might be the best fit of the guards next to KPfrom the draft, since someone like Lonzo (who is obviously a better prospect)is going to dominate the ball and not provide much in terms of defense or 3-point shooting.
Ramon Sessions....ummm..he's a vet guard, so there's nothing to expect from him except managing the offense and providing some mentorship.
Either way, there's reason to be excited this season coming up for the Knicks.
As I've always said, the Knicks problems aren't nearly as much with losing as they are with disappointment.
As a Knicks fan, I'd be ecstatic if we had a fun young team that played hard every night and had room to grow but ultimately won 29 games. The problem is that we've had overpaid veterans that act like divas and put high expectations on each season and those seasons end up with 30 wins.
So yeah....play KP/Frank/Willy/THJ all night, run, gun, compete on D, and win 30 games? I'd be happy about that season. All of those guys are young, play hard, and have room to grow. Pound the ball into Melo? Post Noah up at the elbow? Have 25 mins a game of Sessions, Lance Thomas, O'Quinn, and Courtney Lee on the court and win 30 games? Yeah, I'll see you next season.

The interesting thing for me is how much Hornacek will let Timmy orchestrate. Timmy improved a heck of a whole lot in that area last season. You might see him handling the ball a lot more this time around.

The Knicks should be better defensively but they are going to be pretty brutal when it comes to offensive efficiency and overall struggle to score (i.e. ugly offense). IF Anthony is still with the team you'll likely see him continue to ISO and for folks to continue to complain about why he can't "simply" create for his teammates and make them better players.

I expect to stay out of the "Around The NBA" topic any time Dennis Smith Jr drops 20 or more points.

No need to feel that way. In 3 years, let's see how well Frank is doing, if his knees keep looking good, and if he can provide a lot of the intangibles that don't involve driving to the hoop.(remember, we just had that guy last year)

I'm still hoping Melo goes to the Rockets and Anderson is rerouted for a serviceable point guard. How about Lin and Booker? Hopefully someone Gaines will be scouting the waiver wire at the tail end of camp and find an undiscovered gem.

It's going to be refreshing to have two players at the position who can give opposing PGs a hard time. Would also like to see lineups with both Frank and Baker in the backcourt to ratchet up the pressure. Maybe even make Baker the first sub to maximize some small ball lineups.
Offensively, there will be a lot of rough nights. Frank is a rookie and Baker is limited even if his shot returns from college.
Please give them unlimited opportunity.

I expect Baker and Sessions to be straight up trash, and I want Frank to at least make All-Rookie 2nd team

There will be overreactions.
Please, everybody, keep in mind what they said about Curry and Dirk early on.
If Frank shows he can distribute and push the ball smartly, we've got all we want.

Here we go again comparing Frank to future Hall of Famers again. You can't find a worse point guard unit in the entire NBA. If Carmelo gets traded then God help us. I don't know how the team will score above 85 a game.

Baker (8ppg, 4rpg, 3apg, 24mpg) improves his averages and provides solid defense.
Ntilikina struggles but shows flashes of being a solid point in a few years (5ppg, 2rpg, 2apg, 16mpg)
Sessions (8mpg) has some big scoring games, but is the 3rd string point guard most nights. When he gets minutes he's our best scoring point guard, but since we are bad anyway the minutes go to the younger guys who also happen to provide more on the defensive end.

Let me pose this question:
Who would you rather have, Rose or Sessions given their 2017-18 respective contracts.
