I just hope that these guys are efficient. They don't have to score a lot, just do what the situations call for: run the offense, hit the open shots, make the extra pass, limit turnovers/mental errors and play defense. Just don't try and do too much. We have plenty of other players/vets to take shots.

I hope knicks fans show some patience with frank. Remember that he is the youngest player in the league. Also the two nba comparisons I've heard the most on this board for Frank Nitty are Gary Payton and Chauncey Billups, big point guards. remember that those 2 guys were trash their rookie years and they were like 22 and 23 year old rookies, frank is 3-4 years younger.

Sessions will probably average like 10 minutes a game, hopefully only playing when Baker and Frank struggle. Baker will have one triple double this year and average 8 pts, 3 rebs, 3 assists and shooting 43 FG% 34% from 3. Frank is going to put up Justin Holiday type numbers. I think he'll be more successful playing SG at the beginning of the year and improve his point guard skills by the end of the season. I expect him to average 42 FG% 37% from 3 and 7 pts, 3 rebs, 1.8 apg.

I hope you're right. I haven't followed Sessions' career the past couple of years so I don't even know what he's capable of anymore.

I expect Frank to be better in April than in October. I expect him to be the start by the years end. I hope to lose, a ton, and get a top 3 pick and get Doncic. Who will be a play making 3 to go along with our other young players.

Unless Ntilikina has a KP like rookie season, the PG position could be the worst in the league.

Capable of being an oft-injured, back up at best, PG. PERFECT for the tank!
We need to see a lot of Frank. I hope he's good enough sooner than later to get that PT.
Baker needs to show why he got that deal. All he needs to really do is get his shot back to do that and, not regress defensively with a bigger opportunity for minutes.
Trade Melo!

you watched rose last season. he is a net negative. not sure how that's even a debate. i wouldn't want rose on this team as the water boy.

I don't expect to see much of Sessions. He's basically an insurance policy.
Coach and president want defense and, from defense----> free flowing offense. That means at least 20 minutes together on the court from Frank 'n' Baker to start the season, closer to 24-28 by the end of the season. Lee and Hardaway will play some in the backcourt but both should be utilized as swingmen, ie SG/SF so that Frank 'n' Baker have as much time to throttle opposing backcourts as possible, especially at the end of games when stops are necessary.
I don't care about the win-loss record-- I want to see a Knick team that is both competitive and CLEARLY developing.

1.8 apg? Frank needs to start at PG, full time, trial by fire style.
If Knicks drafted a PG, let him play PG in the NBA from the rip.
If losses pile up as a result, let them pile up and receive a great pick. There's no better young players ahead of him on the depth chart at PG.
Everyone touts the facts that he played PG against grown men in Europe and he has a high BBall IQ, so let him rock out. Worst case scenario, he puts up numbers and increases his value.

I expect Frank to start and become as good if not better than KP or Willy and at a younger age.

Maybe 1.8 was a little low but I doubt he'll average more than 3 assists his rookie year. He wasn't a point guard for Strasbourg, he played SG. For the U18 French team he did play PG though. I think he's going to have a pretty big learning curve at PG, since he didn't play it a lot last year. I'm not expecting big minutes from him either. Maybe like 18 minutes a game with half of them coming at SG. One of his weakness was beating his man off the dribble it's tough to rack up assists if you're not consistently forcing people to rotate on your dribble drives. As he grows and develops he'll hopefully improves on this and become the PG we need.

I expect sessions to start, Out of respect for his seniority
I don't expect he will play more than 15 minutes a night or so
Baker will probably be the number one option for us to get a look at
His defense and willingness to pass have earned him playing time
Especially when we're not that concerned with putting up a lot of points
And I think Frank will be brought along slowly
He'll get time at shooting guard and point guard

I hope you're right. I haven't followed Sessions' career the past couple of years so I don't even know what he's capable of anymore.
Sessions, at this point in his career, is basically a slightly below replacement level player that you throw out there just to give you some minutes because he has NBA experience (the "mentoring" part), is durable and won't make too many mistakes to embarrass your team (he also wont do much to make the team look good either). He was a net negative across the board in pretty much every category for the Hornets last season. Sessions DBPM was actually the same as Rose so that's not a good sign as far as Sessions defensive ability (and Rose generally went up against better opposing guards as a starter). But the hope is that unlike Rose he won't actually take shots away from guys that you probably want to take shots from. Of course, chances are that some of those shots that he'll give up to other won't find the basket as often as it did when Rose here. But since we are looking to tank (or we should be) that could work out well. If the Knicks play him starter minutes we'll probably be looking at a very very very long season (yes, even longer than it already seems like it will be)...like a woman taking days to give birth.
Not sure what the Knicks will do but I'd force feed Ntilikina and Baker as much as possible. If one of the reasons for liking Ntilikina over the other PG prospects was because he was playing in a tougher league against grown men then there's little reason to baby him. I can guarantee you that a lot of the other PG prospects drafted in this past draft will be getting heavy minutes (Dennis Smith, DeAron Fox, Lonzo Ball and Markelle Fultz are all expected to either start or play significant minutes in their respective teams lineups and these are teams that are projected to be in the same or above win category as the Knicks).
