I had Markkanen as the 3rd best prospect in the draft. It's nice to see him doing well on a big stage like this.

Unfortunately, he got injured in the last play. Let's hope it's not anything serious.

If that is true, Chicago awful Butler trade will look way less pathetic.

Lithuania gets their first win, behind great play of their domestic league players - Edgaras Ulanovas and Arturas Gudaitis. Jonas Valanciunas built a foundation by fouling out Israels main big mainly by himself.

Randolph is unreliable on offense, but his defense is great. He is hustling like a mad man so far, which is funny, because you wouldn't expect that from naturalized player (at least stereotypically)

Dragic said he was dead tired in the second half. He did hit crucial FT and is shooting 90% from the free throw line ( Which I hope he will continue till the end of the 2017/18 NBA season ) Anyway too much of our offense depends on Dragic since our shooters are abysmal so far. Hence his low assist so far ( 4,5 per game ).

If Radndolph wasn't hustling like a mad man, he'd be a mayor disappointment so far IMO. I'm still a "bit" underwhelmed by his offense, but all in all he's doing his job.

As for Doncic, he's showinh he's only 18yo. He had a bad shooting nigh + made some mistakes forcing things. He still contributed with 8 rebouds ( team high ) but we'll need more from him if we want to compete with the best teams. As we'll need from most of the team.

For anyone more familiar with Slovenian players Nikolic & Blazic had great games in their limited roles!

I really loved Gudaitis in the '15 draft. I wanted my Pacers to pick him up. Lietuvos rytas is a good club so I'm happy that he's playing there.

He actually wanted to leave Rytas, but he's under contract and the team won't agree to the buyout offered.

Only saw two and a half games today. Greece vs France, Slovenia vs Finland and the second half of Serbia vs Russia.

Greece as expected was a major dissapointment. France made you feel that even when they were up by 6 points they were always in control of the game. Our players and staff need to learn to stop talking and getting technical fouls and what not. The older Antetokounmpo was once again a spark plug off the bench but France has a lot of quality in Fournier, De Colo and Heurtel, Diaw. Lauvergne looked like Tim Duncan out there facing our non existent Centers and once we went to small ball the game got somewhat competitive after we hit a string of threes but that's about it. I expected France to make it to at least the quarter finals before the tournament started despite their absences and nothing has changed from what i ve seen today.

Dragic was phenomenal for one half and that was enough for Slovenia. Randolph played a crucial defence on Markkanen and defensively he was more than solid overall. I am really impressed with Markkanen he seems extremely smooth out there. I saw he got injured towards the end of the game and it seemed like a non contact injury too so i hope he is ok. If anyone learns something about the injury i believe we would all like to know. But overall extremely impressed by him. Kopponen and Doncic have been dissapointing so far especially the first one. I believe Finland can surprise some people but they will need Kopponen to play better especially if Markkanen is out.

Serbia of course has the most absences in this tournament and i feel like a full Serbian squad against this Spanish team would be perhaps one of the most entertaining final games we could have witnessed. For the time being Bogdanovic and Marjanovic have to do everything on their own but Djorjevic is a pretty good coach and as someone mentioned he is just testing things in the preliminaries. Still this Serbian team is far far worse than it should have been. Big game from Shved

Spain looks like a freight train at the moment. Old man Gasol will be able to dominate European Center even if he reaches 50 apparently. I know they have only played against Montenegro and Czech Republic but i can't see a way they lose this tournament. They are so full depth chart wise it would be a huge upset if they didn't win.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. Where did he want to go?

Dettmann said that he didn't see any injury when asked about it in the post-game interview. Bulls sources are reporting that the injury is nothing serious. Markkanen is expected to play tomorrow. That's what I've heard at least.

I heard that Koponen missed a big part of the preparation with an injury. He probably isn't 100% yet.

Spain and Russia are looking like the two strongest teams right now. Russia has won two close games against two good teams while Spain has soundly beaten both teams they've faced. Slovenia will be a strong candidate, too, if Goran keeps playing like that.

Koponen's hand isn't healed yet from the nerve injury. He can't even shoot a free throw, as he needed to take a jumper(!) to get enough force. I wouldn't count too much on him.

Damn... could be an exceptionally good (shooting) game, but that guy's overall offensive skills look incredibly smooth.

It was his best game I have ever seen, thats for sure. I am still very skeptical about him and the NBA.

2 mins per game for the Cavs

Cedi's position is stacked. Lebron, Crowder, shumpert, smith, Jefferson, possibly Wade.

Helsinki, day 3
About France: a vert bas 1st game, and then 3 good quarters versus Greece. It seems that Collet Spoke to Séraphin after first game. Fournier really impress me by his behaviour. De Colo is De Colo, and Heurtel was pretty clean for the second game.

About Markkanen:
What a great trade for Bulls!! Hard to take position after draft for a NCAA player, but after playing gold games against 2 good teams, it seems Chicago FO did the right choice. A future NBA All-Star, maybe 1st team within 4 years.

About Island and Finland way to défend:
A bit worse for Island. Always agressing the one with the ball... But often with (both,)"hands. For Island, after watching second quarter against Greece (and I really liked this Gough défense), they could not defend that way against versus Poland. For Finland, more fouls called too during second game (BTW, referees did whisthle same thing on both sides).

About Dragic:
Pretty good :)
LA 2028 (Starters):
Francisco - Strazel - Malédon - Traoré ?
Coulibaly - Fournier
Risacher - Cordinier
Yabusele- Hoard - Essengue/Penda?
Wembanyama - Lessort - Raynaud / Beringer /Sarr?

I like him. Very good defender. He has very short arms tho, if he had Valanciunas' length, he would be legit good.

Best bet of the day. Slovenia (2.5) versus Greece.
