Looks like the Dolphins/Bucs could potentially get moved.

Both teams have byes the same week so they could play this game then and give these teams a week 1 bye but that would somewhat suck because it means both team will end up playing 16 straight games in the regular season starting week 2.

Anyone think I'm nuts taking Kansas City and New Orleans as upset picks that win this week?

KC is a really good team and Minnesota isn't that much better than NO if at all. Falcons/Bears is the biggest mismatch on paper I think. But week one on the road can lead to some unexpected results. Plus the Bears have a solid front 7 and run game to keep it close. Can't wait.

I picked them over the Vikings. Not whole lot offense and NO can score in bunches

I'm actually low key expecting KC to win this week.

I still like getting the 8.5 point though.

I do plan on getting semi drunk and cheering for the Hawks (especially lacy) to annoy her...it'll make it so much sweeter if lacy goes off (even though I won't play him) so I can keep saying that the packers should have kept him

I do. KC has no shot and I don't trust the Saints defense.

Seahawks are approaching Warriors status Jack...sure, GB isn't an easy place to play, but the Hawks went into New England and won last year....and the Hawks are better. Pack might win obviously (and obviously I'll be rooting for them hard), but Seattle can win anywhere.

Here's to hoping the Rams are in first place for a few weeks with the Luckless Colts coming to town :D

I picked them to cover with the points, but the Pats are almost always extremely prepared in week one. That being said, Andy Reid is great off of bye weeks so he's had a lot of bye weeks to prepare.

As an outright upset to win I think that's a little bold for my liking.

I'm taking the points regardless, however I really do think the Saints have a good shot to beat the Vikings.

Yeah, that's not a stretch. But KC upsetting the Pats outright is bold.

Yes it is. Not saying the Chiefs will win but I really think they have a very good shot if they play well. I know its hard for you to admit that being a Charger fan and hating your division rival. Plus I just have the feeling things are not going to go so smooth for the Patriots this year. Just a feeling though.

I don't think the Chiefs have any chance whatsoever.

Brandin Cooks is the best WR Brady has had since Moss. Gronk is healthy (for now). They have multiple weapons at RB...Amendola/Hogan..

The Patriots offense is going to be the best it's been since Moss was there. Defensively they have some question marks, but BB always has them playing decent there. I don't think they will win the super bowl, but I do think they are better than they were last year.

Oh, I thought you said you were picking the Chiefs for the upset. Picking them with the points isn't an upset. Spreads equalize things and make it a 50/50 proposition, so that's not bold nor crazy. I picked the Chiefs as well. It's definitely not hard for me to admit hating the Chiefs though. They were quite overrated and very fortunate often last year and not as good as their record indicated though, so they likely take a step back this year.

I took them to cover in our pig skin pickem and I may use this game as one of my betting games this weekend, but I just threw it out there to get responses from all the guys to see if I could get persuaded one way or another. Not quite sure yet, but still pondering it. I personally think its possible, but K.C. will have to play really well with no mistakes.
