Yeah, it's not about him being a "good player" or not. He's never going to really take a back seat. He's never going to come in and play that J-Kidd role like Kidd played for him, no matter his age. He's not that kind of player and person. That's not his game. He's got nothing to offer but scoring and the way he scores is mostly one-on-one.
It doesn't have to be personal. Nobody has to come running to defend this guy here. This is all very simple: with the amount of young talent the team is starting to accumulate, the heights they want and expect KP to reach, and what they want to accomplish this season with the development of these players and possibly a chance at another lottery pick.... it is so very obvious that Melo needs to be removed from this team, and it's naive to think that he can still fit in or help any sort of long term agenda, and very naive to think he would even want to do that in any capacity. Melo is over New York.
