Packers - Seahawks Leadup

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Sep 7, 2017 11:30 pm

Discussion on this week's game. We whipped them last year as a hobbled Wilson threw 5 picks. They're healthy now, should be a close game. Lacy is backing up Rawls, he'll certainly get opportunities. If we can put pressure in Wilson we win.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hell of a Week 1 match-up. This most definitely will not be the same Seahawks we obliterated last year.

This being said, I feel bullish on these Packers. I'm going with a late pull-away 27-17 victory.

**** the Seahawks and **** Russell Wilson. Destroying them last year was the most satisfying regular season win in years. I think we make it two in a row and this offense shows they're on a mission this season.

I will be content going 1-1 over the first two games.

I'm hoping we can snag this game at home because I don't love our early season schedule. Another slow start would not surprise me.

This is the same Seahawks defense that gave up 38 points to the Packers last season.

Packers 27, Seahawks 17.

I think we win a close one here then lose to Atlanta and start 1-1.

I might eat crow but neither lacy nor Wilson scare me. They are talented but I think the defense knows both guys really well and can contain them.

I think or D holds them in the 17- 23pts and we jump up to 26 to 30pt range.

31-17 Packers.

Seattle has never been the same team on the road and Capers usually has a good plan for Wilson. Their D isn't what it used to be either.

Packers 27, Seahawks 17.

3 TD drives started in Seattle territory thanks to their 6 turnovers. We only had 330 yards of total offense.

True, but that's only somewhat relevant. Those weren't pick-sixes. The Packers still had to finish those drives, and they finished five of them with touchdowns.

Aaron Rodgers still went 18-23 for 246 yards, three touchdowns, and a 150.8 QB Rating. Ty Montgomery still gave us 4.6 ypc. Those stats reflect a team that was doing a better job against Seattle than they had in games past.

Granted, Earl Thomas wasn't playing last season, so that will undoubtedly change things this season. But we've also added some more dynamic targets for Rodgers this season.

I'm relatively confident about this one. We've played them extremely well at home in recent years and the only way I see that not happening is if we end up in a 'starting the season slow' cycle.
