I actually agree with half of Chilled Alex's concern regarding Porzingis - he does come across as significantly more selfish in terms of his personality than I ever would have expected following the media coverage we saw of him after the draft and through his rookie year. The diva stuff is extremely disconcerting to me as a fan, and the way he is so obviously trying to craft a brand for himself - despite not being a star - is off-putting to me as well. The whole vibe around his Youtube channel this offseason is just so cringe-worthy to me personally. From the final game of last season through today, Kristaps Porzingis is a player I actively dislike - comes across as a total douche, self-important, me-first, delusional, wannabe star. He seems not very different from the insufferable IG hoes in terms of the way he is acting and crafting his image on social media.

At the same time, he's young, and has been following a good amount of bad advice from his hack team of brothers. More importantly, as much as there are holes in his game (rebounding, shooting consistency, assertiveness) you can absolutely see the development in his game this offseason, mainly as a product of his physical maturity. I'm not speaking to any high-level of basketball specifics, but instead the way he looks moving around in these highlights - the way he's starting to look like a man playing out there rather than a newly born foal or a mobile coat hanger with an oversized #6 Knicks jersey following him around like a parachute. He'll likely never rebound, but the look of him in the paint for this FIBA period, or simply when he bodies an opponent, is a lot different from what I was used to for the past 2 years. A LOT.

I remember when he was drafted Woj wrote something to the effect of - it may be a minute, but when he reaches his final form, Porzingis is going to be the best player in the 2015 draft. He burst onto the scene so intensely, so white-hot, for a team whose fanbase is DESPERATE for a savior, that it's tough to take the macro view on him. BUT, if he really is developing, and he is in the process of unlocking an enormous amount of additional ceiling, he's unquestionably worth the time and will grow nicely into the self-absorbed douchebag persona he's wearing so poorly to my eye this offseason. Maybe it will even give him the confidence to be himself.

EDIT: I just re-read this. I wrote it while watching the Yankee game and putting back more beers than I should in this Friday sunset. My whole point is that I love KP but have had some significant concerns this offseason about him, and his showing for Latvia has been very enlightening/encouraging for someone like me who is just begging for him to grow/develop.

C'mon man, stop with the strawman nonsense  . The addition of "garbage" is something that was nowhere near anything I wrote. This offseason has been a pretty bad look for KP to my eye, as a Knicks fan who is so invested in him being becoming extremely good. While I'm disappointed by the way he's acted, I'm surprisingly encouraged by what I've seen from him on the FIBA court.

In terms of social media presence, Embiid is very, very different to me than Porzingis.

Don't get me wrong, KP is certainly not a Tim Duncan type, but he's far from a 'diva'.

I don't think he's Paul Pierce or Lebron level, but based on this offseason I disagree. And while I'd rather him not be, but he can be the diva-est diva the league has ever seen if he becomes a two-way cornerstone force. I'm perfectly good with that.

Meh. I got sold a bill of goods on the kid's personality by his family and their media positioning that looks bad right now. That's all.

And I my problems aren't with him trolling the internet for ass. As long as he stays focused on ball that's funny to me - not the best look, but he's 22 years old in the world's capital with a huge Q-rating. Go get it.

I say they're different because to me Embiid is just being a kid, trying to be funny, and posting thoughts/reaction. It might be annoying at times, but he's basically just a famous millenial who rips off some entertaining one-liners/memes to me and has a good self-awareness.

What I'm talking about with KP is the way he seems (to me) trying to act like a boss despite not being a boss. People that act it before they are it rub me the wrong way.

I just dont think SelbyCobra realizes how common/second nature it is for Generation Z to use social media/youtube the way KP does. And im not talking about millennials, im talking about the post-millenial generation who have only grown up with high speed internet access & modern digital technology from their earliest memories. And then you factor in KP growing up in foreign countries that doesn't have the same exact culture as America. Way overanalyzing things. The only strike i give KP is skipping the exit meeting, but everyone gets one pass.

just came here to say that Dončič is on a Dragič level of quality at age of 18, so I'll not be raging if we draft him. He might be a little slow, but so was Bodiroga. It's **** amazing how maturly he's playing at 18 and the **** he's doing.

We've **** destroyed everything from France (we were leading by 27 vs them at some point), Greece,... And we just might win vs Ukraine for 30 :D The only obstacle to championship might be spain. God damn, this **** makes me happy! ahahaha! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

BTw, We've got anthony randolph (which was a Knick!) playing for national team
