FAU @ Bucky
Taylor busts one for 64 yards and a TD.
He could be special.

Re: FAU @ Bucky
Taylor is definitely the surprise of the season. Never really heard his name in camp and he could knocking on the number 1 rb spot

Re: FAU @ Bucky
Taylor is legit. He's far more talented than a guy like James White. Considerably longer strike, gets north and south when he has to, and more powerful. Stylistically, don't know if he's like anyone we've had in the modern years. But we may have a Melvin Gordon-esque talent on our hands.

Let's take the rushing record back from Oklahoma.

Re: FAU @ Bucky
I'm interested to watch Hornibrook today against a bad defense. That 35 yard completion to Danny Davis was Horni personified. It was right on target but it floated up there for an eternity.

Either the corner was playing the wrong coverage or the safety didn't rotate over fast enough.

Re: FAU @ Bucky
Looks like we found something to work on for Jonathan Taylor. Gotta be able to put your head down and pick up a yard or two in these situations. That was a pretty poor effort by him on those goal line plays.

Re: FAU @ Bucky
The blocking might have been there on 4th down actually. He just tried to bounce it outside when he shouldn't have.

Pretty pathetic that we can't get a yard vs. FAU

Re: FAU @ Bucky
This doesn't look like a classic UW OL, but it's deteriorated for years. Then it didn't help that Ramzyck declared so quickly after last season.
Why don't they run their fb's Ingold or Ramesh on any of those short yardage plays? It only works 98% of the time.

I agree that they don't think they have that one stud player at T or G to anchor the line but I think you're being pretty damn harsh based on what we've seen so far. Did you miss the multiple plays where they pushed FAU's DL 5 yards downfield or opened some massive holes?

Re: FAU @ Bucky
The OL always seems to start slow, so I'm not overly worried yet. 4th down was on Taylor and on 3rd down I believe, a CB off the edge came free.

We should be able to score on 2-3 plays at the goal line against FAU at home, shouldn't have struggled for a while against USU at home last week, and on paper this didn't look like one of UW's better lines to me. Maybe move Deiter back to his natural position and play Van Lanen at LT. Could improve at 2 positions and change the landscape significantly. We've had lines that have gotten better throughout the season from different combos. Often walk-ons emerge after the scholarship guys were tried. Look at Ramcyzyk.
