Re: Scrubs/Crew
Braun hit his 300th home run and the official MLB twitter account has not tweeted or RT'd anything about it.

Gotta say, just as many others have, I'm expecting a sweep.
This team is so weird.

Oh forgot. Many differing opinions on this board but let's be united in this all weekend. Our hatred for these Cubs. And FU Lackey! Scrub.

Re: Scrubs/Crew
DH in the NL would be nice, takes away a little strategy, wont get as many fun double switches but if it keeps pitchers from getting hurt in the box or on the bases I am all for it. Plus, then Braun can DH and next year we can roll with a Phillips, Brinson, Santana OF and not lose Brauns bat

Re: Scrubs/Crew
They don't think it's that serious, right?
I really don't want a DH. It's not just being a purist, although admittedly I am one. It's also the added strategy as Gianstoppable said, including maybe strategizing around having pitchers who are better athletes or using middle relievers more so they don't have to hit as often. It just adds a wrinkle that makes the game much more compelling.
Most importantly, I'm sick of the way the game sells offense. I guess you have to give the fans what they want, but I don't care about scoring a lot and hitting lots of home runs and I'm not sure most other fans do either. They just don't know the alternative. Call more strikes and make hitters swing more. The most exciting part of the game is putting the ball in play and running the bases and hoping you're a little faster than the defense. When guys like Prince Fielder get $30m+ per season, there's something wrong. I can't blame the NFL for changing everything to emphasize the pass game, because that actually is more exciting. But what baseball has been doing? Not so much. Drawing walks and striking out and not stealing bases is just boring. And my suggestions would speed up the games, too. I think that's what would bring baseball back to some of its past glory. They've got it in their head that more offense is the answer, but it's not.

Re: Scrubs/Crew
Was nice to see Braun get #300, would be a great time for him to get hot. Side note, why do some people think Braun got suspended for taking a stimulant that is now allowed in the MLB? Didnt he admit to using an anti-inflammatory cream and lozenges and thats pretty much the last we heard of it.

Re: Scrubs/Crew
I've always said you either need the DH in both leagues or neither. As is, it's stupid. Playing field needs to be even on both sides.
Do it for Chuck

It never made sense to me. It's like having different NFL rules for the NFC/ABC.

Re: Scrubs/Crew
Yeah it's a disadvantage for both sides when they play. AL pitchers aren't used to batting and are more prone to injuries and NL teams aren't built to have a DH.

Re: Scrubs/Crew
1st base coach should have told Jimmy to stay up and not slide. Unless it's the winning run the pitcher should never slide. Maybe Jimmy did it in his own. This sucks. I guess Wilkerson may get called up now

BUCKnation wrote:Why is Lackey even throwing back to first with a pitcher there. F*** him and f*** the NL
He didn't throw to first, Jimmy hit what should have been a double off the center-field wall but since Wrigley still has the ancient brick wall out there the ball bounced back quickly and they fired it in so Jimmy turned around ran back to First and slid when he didn't even have to and slit awkwardly and apparently did this
