A newfound tendency to pull back possessions to ISO is not a positive development from this Eurobasket. Also settling for too many stepback 3's. Has to attack downhill, more than capable of getting good looks at the rim

He scored at least three times on Porzingis.

Doncic sure loves those 3 pointers. Stepback 3s over Porzingis does little for me since we already know perimeter shooting is a strength. A lot of bail outs FTs and intentionals. Liked his poise as a handler especially in grab n go situations but still have huge questions about him as a scorer inside the arc.

That really was sick. If we can negate the length they will throw at us with the gasols and hernangomezes, i think we got a chance. Spain cant shoot better then latvia, and the refs cant be worse then today. Prepelic, doncic, dragic at the start, randolph in the 3rd. Great comebacks

Great game. Imagine the HYPE if he puts up a similar game vs. Spain ...
Doncic is showing us that it was really probably fatigue that played a part in his Final 4 struggles. Real played an NBA-team-like schedule so he simply hit the point that's called a "rookie wall" in the NBA. I'm not saying that was definitely the main reason, but it surely played a part. Sure he has a bigger role now, but he looks completely different, just a couple months later ...

22 against Greece, 15 against France and 27 against Latvia. He scored twice inside the arc against Porzingis today. Almost every game the best rebounder of both teams. Today 9 rbd, Porzingis 6. But you will always doubt, if he's better than Ntilikina, who's some kind of defence monster and can't even made NT.
His stats in Eurobasket are 15.7/7.7/3.1. 6th in rebound category.

Don't care how much he scored. I care how he scored. And a bunch of step back 3s because he can't get by subpar athletes and a ton of ticky tack fouls did not answer the questions I have about his game.
Porzingis isn't a great rebounder so I'm confused by bringing that stat up. Doncic can shoot the 3, rebound, pass...cool. I have questions for "the chosen one" who some are saying should be the #1 pick, franchise player and evoking HOFers as comps.

If Slovenia become new Europan champion, Dragic will be MVP and both him and Doncic in the Ideal Five of the tournament. So yeah, Luka is two games from being in the ideal five of the Eurobasket, and he's 18.
How old were those players in their first Ideal Five of the Eurobasket:
- Parker, 21
- P. Gasol, 21
- Kirilenko, 22
- Nowitzki, 23

it looks like you have problems understanding, that his off dribble step back threes are unguardable, do you need to be explained a meaning of such a skill any further?

He went 4/11 from 3 so apparently not.
No player is a franchise guy with only a stepback 3 in his arsenal in the halfcourt.

if you watched the game, you would know, 3 of those the 3p shots he attempted (1 went in) were when clock was running out.
And the fact that youre ignoring all his other elite/ close to elite skills which were pointed out a numerous times just showes how ignorant you are and that youre just trolling this thread

2 baskets scored 1 on 1 against Porzingins doesn't count too? Or 2 important fouls he provoked from Porzingis doesn't count? And maybe you should kept in mind how old he's?;)

It was interesting how when Porzingis got his 4th foul, it was Doncic who immediately started attacking him. He keeps proving time and time again how he's already basically THE SMARTEST player on the floor, at age of 18!?
He's simply going to find ways to succeed, even in the NBA. Luckily he has a very good frame and strength, so he's not going to be pushed around, something that often ended up being a problem for many other players with brilliant bball IQs.
With his bball-IQ, strength and PASSION (which was very evident tonight), I just don't see how he ends up not being an NBA star, even with his "limitations".

You don't need a quick first step anymore. So much NBA offense is created in transition, through early offense, or off the pick and roll. Doncic actually has the harder skills worked out already and he'll be heading into a league with less physical contact on the perimeter and more moving screens. Should adapt nicely.

Seriously, though, the last time I saw this kind of passion was in Drazen Petrovic. Who else had it? KG?

Good point. Doncic has almost all the skills for today's NBA offenses, he's close to perfect for many of today's offenses.
And when you add less physical contact and moving screens ... he really shouldn't have problems. He's ALREADY a master in using screens, it's how he does most of his penetrations. Some see negatives in that, but they really shouldn't considering the state of the NBA's offenses ...
