Towns (and Butler) in the top 25 and Green is top 10... :noway: :noway: :noway:

Trading for Kyrie didn't make sense for the Wolves.

Lowry-Butler-Towns is an amazing Big 3.

You think that Raptors need DeRozan junior alongside DeRozan senior

Of course not, but I think the Raptors are pretty close to bailing on this iteration of their team, and Wiggins is a strong young asset.

If that were true they wouldn't sign both Lowry and Ibaka to long term deals.

^ ^I don't see the Raps as a viable option unless they were willing to part with 4 or 5 lower played players(OG,Siakim,Powell etc, they are not offering Lowry , and their really isn't any other highly paid player on the Raps that Wolves would take back.

Getting the right pieces to surround the 2 stars is key. Towns is a match up problem for GS.
Wiggins hasn't been close to borderline all-star.

They're signed to 3-year deals including this one. Those are not long-term deals. And in this scenario Lowry would be traded for the younger asset.

Still, have to say that the dragging of the extension signing is weird.

Teague is pretty hard to piss off. Solid team guy.

Wolves gets Pistons 2018 unprotected.

So Pistons give up:

AB
SJ
Unprotected 2018 pick

For Wiggins?

Why?

Drummond, Wiggins & RJ would be the most underachieving "Big 3" I could imagine

My fellow Piston fans might riot if that deal went down

The Raptors structured their deals so basically the whole team expires in 3 years. Wiggins is too young and nowhere near good enough to help now, and too old to contribute to a rebuild because of his upcoming max deals.

If Wiggins signs a max contract and Thibs/Butler want to stick around at the end of his deal Wiggins will be traded. He'll play for the Wolves until Towns/Butler are due for new deals and then he'll be traded for depth. That's two years from now though, so trade talk is premature.

A waterbug PG in Teague won't age well in his 30s. No more lottery picks. Towns will have to do it on his own in 5 years. In the meantime they will come up short against GSW every year. No championships in sight.

You can pretty much say this about 90% of NBA teams. Why is anyone trying to compete if they're gonna lose to GS?

Wiggins fired his agent. He's waiting for a new contract deal before he does anything. He's fine and this thread should be locked up.

Lol...yeah, that's en epically disappointing big 3. Reminds me of the old Ellis - Maggette - Biedrins big 3 in Oakland, back when the goal was to be first round roadkill to the Spurs.

Been reading the GB threads, I'm surprised no one had said, "If the T-Wolves had a player like Horace Grant, they'll have a chance against the Warriors."

The T-Wolves didn't screw up. I think this team is pretty hard to maintain in the beginning. First, Wiggins/Butler/KAT/Teague all need the ball in their hands in order to be effective. If it works, it probably needs a year or two for this team is gel. By that time, Wiggins would like a max/supermax. The year after that, KAT would like a max/supermax. The year after that, Butler would like a max/supermax. With that going on, Teague is earning 19m/yr (LOL?). I'm curious to see how they're going to keep this team together if they don't taste success immediately.

Yeah if you think Johnson is the answer or Bradley will re sign then I get it, but essentially you would be getting an upgrade to Johnson offensively for the price of a on ball defensive specialist guard who is unlikely to stay in Detroit after this season,a season in which you have no legitimate chance of winning a championship, and also in a year where mediocrity is in the cards and your pick will likely be late lottery at best which is not much to give up for Wiggins.
But hey if you think Wiggins is that low a value then so be it. I think he is the best player on your roster if he is moved there.
