Lamar Jackson - QB - Cardinals
Louisville junior QB Lamar Jackson completed 21-of-42 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 64 yards on 17 attempts in Saturday's 47-21 loss to Clemson.
Jackson put up numbers, but the Tigers did a fantastic job of holding him in check -- most noticeably when he tucked and ran. A year ago, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner gouged Clemson for 162 yards on the ground. After the star junior gunslinger hooked up with Charles Standberry on an 11-yard score while falling out of bounds with 4:29 remaining in the first quarter (it was an insanely athletic play), Louisville would not score again until the fourth quarter. At that point, the Tigers held a comfortable 33-7 advantage. Jackson might have been held in check, here, but that's no shade on him. Clemson looked like the better team through-and-through. There's only so much he can do on his own.

Luke Falk - QB - Cougars
Washington State senior QB Luke Falk completed 37-of-49 passes for 396 yards and six touchdowns in Saturday's 52-23 win over Oregon State.
Falk was forced out of last Saturday's triple-overtime win over Boise State due to a head injury, but showed no ill effects in his demolition of the Cougars one week later. He connected on four of his six touchdown passes in the first half, including three in the second quarter. The uber-productive quarterback has now thrown for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in two of three games this season, with only that ineffective, injury-marred Boise State contest serving as a dark cloud on his statistical output.

I went on record saying this kid is better than Barkley. A person laughed at me but we'll see who ends up with the last laugh.
J.K. Dobbins - RB - Buckeyes
Ohio State freshman RB J.K. Dobbins ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in a 38-7 victory over Army on Saturday.
This could have been an even bigger day for Dobbins (5'10/208), but he certainly made the most of his 13 carries. His first score came with 4:52 left in the firstquarter, a four-yard plunge that doubled the Buckeyes lead to 14-0. He then gashed the Golden Knights defense for a 52-yard score late in the third quarter that all but ended Army's chance of winning with the score 24-7. Over the first three games, you'd be hard-pressed to find a freshman running back who has been better than Dobbins. Ohio State appears to have found a star.

Saquon Barkley - RB - Nittany Lions
Penn State junior RB Saquon Barkley ran for just 47 yards on 10 carries, but caught four passes for 142 yards and a score in a 56-0 demolition of Georgia State on Saturday.
Somewhat surprisingly, Barkley struggled on the ground, but the 5-foot-11, 222-pound tailback was able to gash the Georgia State defense as a receiver. His touchdown was an 85-yarder from quarterback Trace McSorley that made it 7-0 Penn State, and that was all the offense they really needed. He'll likely go back to piling up the rushing yards in the Nittany Lions next game against Iowa.

Derrius Guice - RB - Tigers
LSU junior RB Derrius Guice ran 15 times for 76 yards in a 37-7 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday.
It wasn't a bad day for Guice, but the 5-foot-11, 212-pound tailback was unable to make the big play, much less make up for the complete ineffectiveness of quarterback Danny Etling. Outside of a 25-yard run, he was held to just 51 yards on the rest of his 14 carries. He'll look to get back on track against Syracuse on Saturday.

The vast majority are either on team Darnold or team Rosen. Most people are on both teams which is just fine.
I've been saying since last year that Allen is all hype. He is so raw it's not even funny. Freaking mentally raw too. You don't take a guy #1 overall because of size, athletic ability and arm strength. There is so much more to a QB. The things he doesn't sniff right now.

Nick Fitzgerald - QB - Bulldogs
Nick Fitzgerald completed 15-of-23 passes for 180 yards and two scores, and ran 14 times for 88 yards with two scores in a 37-7 drubbing of LSU on Saturday.
You would never know that LSU was the ranked team and Missisippi State was unranked based on this game, and a lot of that had to do with Fitzgerald. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound quarterback had no issues solving a talented LSU defense with this legs and arm. He gave MSU a 7-0 lead when he scored on a three-yard keeper at the top of the second quarter, and he did the same thing at the bottom of the quarter to make it 17-7 at the close of the half. His arm went to work in the second half, finding Keith Mixon for a 45-yard strike to up the lead to 27-7, and his 20-yard touchdown pass to Deddrick Thomas with 13 minutes left in the game completed the route. There are questions as to how effective Fitzgerald will be as an NFL quarterback, but there's no doubt that he's one of the most talented collegiate signal-callers in the SEC.

Pozz.
JOHN KELLY. I think the rest of the nation discovered him today.
On another note. I'm so glad I didn't watch this game live. I probably would have jumped off the GG Bridge afterwards. Atrocious gut wrenching ball busting loss. Hate Florida. Hate them.

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners
Oklahoma redshirt senior QB Baker Mayfield threw for 331 yards on 17-for-27 passing with four touchdowns in a 56-14 victory over Tulane on Saturday.
Mayfield (6'1/220) actually struggled with accuracy for the first time this season, but he still made more than enough plays with his right arm against the Green Wave. His first score was an 82-yard bomb to CeeDee Lamb to tie the game at 7-7 midway through the first quarter. He found Lamb again in the first quarter, this time for 28-yards to again tie the game at 14-14. His third touchdown strike was a 20-yarder to Abdul Adams with 2:34 left in the half and put the Sooners out front 28-14, and his final pass of the game was a touchdown to Jordan Smallwood to make it 42-14. To say that Mayfield has been an impressive in his first three games is an understatement, and he has to be considered among the Heisman front-runners right now.

Thanks Dub. It seems like 1z enjoy making things up in his head, just to pat himself in the back later on down the road. That's why I didn't even bother responding to this fictitious claim that members were campaigning for Allen to go #1 overall. If anything it was more so "hey this prospect Allen is returning to school and the kid has the tools you look for in a franchise QB if he continues to develop, so pay attention and group him as a person who may climb the boards like Wentz and Trubisky...". Everyone and their mother went on record saying how inconsistent Allen was, how he struggles with accuracy at times and trust his arm too much, etc. As a matter of fact, Clyde didn't even give Allen a 1st round grade (Rudolph didn't get high praises either) because of all the question marks I stated above and other issues/flaws in Allen's game. But he too loved his physical intangibles. If anything those posts were more so for, "hey fellas keep an eye out for this QB...".
When we initially mentioned Darnold and Rosen on this messenge board, those guys weren't even being mentioned on "popular draft sites". What are you talking about!? If you're going to penalize us for finding out about Allen through draft pundits, are you also going to give us credit for discovering Rosen and Darnold before "popular draft sites" were even discussing them!?

Sam Darnold - QB - Trojans
USC redshirt sophomore QB Sam Darnold completed 28-of-49 passes for 397 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in a 27-24 double-overtime victory over Texas on Saturday.
Three touchdowns and 397 yards: good. That completion percentage and two interceptions against a Texas team that gave up 51 points to Maryland? Not so much. Darnold is going to be over critiqued because of his draft stock, but there was a lot of good and a lot of bad tonight for the potential No.1 pick. A lot of the good came in high-leverage situations, however, which has to be nice to see for fans of the Trojans. The 6-foot-4 quarterback made a signature play when he completed a jump pass under pressure to Stephen Carr to get the Trojans into field goal range and tie the game at 17. He made a gorgeous throw to Deontay Burnett in the first overtime, which was helped by Texas deciding to not cover the wideout. Darnold and USC will travel to Cal next week.

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
He airmailed one of the interceptions.
He almost threw another on a slant that he stared down the WR, allowing the DB to jump the ball.
He's got a big arm and has good pocket presence, makes plays keeping the ball alive, a la Rothlisberger.
Does that make him the best QB prospect since Luck, who also tries to do too much and has taken a beating in the NFL?
He's got pretty good playmakers at RB and WR so his mistakes may be covered up. When they can score a TD with 45 seconds left in the half because the RB takes a medium pass and outruns the defense to the end zone, the QB doesn't have to always be great.
I didn't see the game but Mora was talking about how Rosen will not give up on a play, to his detriment. I presume the two picks led to scores for the other team.
Sometimes, these big name QBs try to win games by themselves. UCLA seems to have a poor defense so Rosen may feel pressure to score on every possession -- maybe something that has afflicted Luck.

To be clear I think Allen Rosen and Darnold have talent and the Niners would do good with any of them. But I'm on the Baker Mayfield bandwagon. The more I watch him the more I like him and its just my opinion and its not to say anything against the other qbs but atm he is the top of my wish list but I would be ecstatic with Darnold tooo

I know I definitely didn't say that people were claiming Josh Allen was their #1QB. What I was bringing to your attention was that somehow AFTER Darnold, Josh Allen's name kept appearing. There was no reason for it. I know people aren't randomly watching Wyoming games during the Spring, but somehow now there were posts with Josh Allen in their top two or three. Sure enough, pundits are saying how he's a riser and has potential and skill set. Now for a second time, I KNOW 99% (excluding Pozz and that's it) of the board is not watching Wyoming games, so the only logical conclusion is you're taking these pundits analysis for gospel.
As for Rosen and Darnold, the two play in Cali, so I'm glad people on a San Francisco 49er forum board were able to recognize their talent coming to fruition in realtime.
There are years though, were guys like Geno Smith, Jake Locker, Christian Hackenberg are at the top of rankings just cause. I'm not sure about you guys, but I rather not get rehash view points on a forum board, I rather keep it interesting and see if anyone else is "woke" on the against the grain sleeper.

Again there is no RB in college or the pros that's as intriguing as SQBK. He's truly generational type of prospect. Unlike how Fournette was suppose to be, then people saying his backup was better—there will be no one like SQBK for a long time

I watched Allen last year and said I didn't get the hype then. I guess I'm the 1%.

Fans always get hyped about big, strong, fast QBs. But the dude was averaging over a pick a game in college. That's your first clue the dude isn't anywhere near a great college QB much less the next great pro'.
Allen is nothing more than a project. He's Ryan Tannehill in a best-case scenario and Terrelle Pryor in a worst-case. In fact, the guy might want to consider trying to play WR or TE in the NFL.
