2022-2023 Trade and Transactions Thread

Post#1 » by Snayr » Tue Jul 21, 2015 11:42 pm

Not much has changed overall, but I figured I'd post something new in here... see about a bit of a revival of sorts. What's the thoughts on Galchenyuk getting signed? How about Tinners deal? It's a make or break season for him. We have a log jam at D, my money's on Emelin getting traded, or perhaps Gilbert. We shall see.

I feel it'd be in Montreal's best interest to keep Emelin and trade Gilbert. Emelin brings a big body on the blue line laying 200+ hits this season. I think the Habs need this sort of physical play in order to be a cup contender. Yeah his points contribution is lacking but I think MTL would be making a mistake on trading him.

If they were to trade Gilbert, what do you think his worth is?

There's not much worth, to be honest. He is a smaller cap hit, and he's in his last year of his contract. He may get us something decent at the trade deadline due to him being more 'veteran'. Emelin would probably yield a better return, but honestly right now we just need to clear some roster spots on D.

Also, great signing of Galchenyuk @ 2.8 / season for the next two years. If he wants to get paid, its on him to prove he's the player we think he can be. Here's hoping it happens!

In hindsight;
Who would have though Eric Staal and Corey Perry would be this critical to the playoff run?

I am on the fence regarding the Caufield signing.
The kid is crazy talented and only 22 so you buying out a good chuck of his prime but it just seems so early to open the vault like this.
