Well damn. You joined team buyout?

The Portland option could be made more worth our while than the Houston one. I still think we need to do a few years more wiggling before we're in position to sign a big name anyway. The Hardaway deal made all of that harder. We have to hit on some more draft pieces and have hit on Frank.

yeah. the timmy deal was dumb. but it's too late to change that. no need to add to it.

p.s. the spurs are currently poised to have 50 mill in cap space for the summer of 2019. they know how to plan ahead.

 i've actually pretty much abandoned hope of the knicks ever figuring this out. i just want them to be semi-entertaining. i'd probably settle for .500. it's like a tv show where half the episodes suck. the walking dead isn't even that good and i still watch it. i could live with that.

Right? I mean, people **** on "treadmill" teams like the Clippers but those motherfckers win like 50+ games every year. They'll probably do it again this year even with all the changes. That's livin'.

they're pretty much winning at the same clip as the 90s knicks and those were their glory days.

Just make the team bad enough to get Doncic and everything else will fall in place.

How to deal with Melo - options:

1. Try to reason with him so he expands his list. (THey definitely tried, and it seems its not happening)
2.Force his ass to expand his list. (Don't just straight bench him. Just let him play, BUT AFTER FIRST LAZY PLAY ON DEFENSE SIT HIS ASS. Ideally, Horny could scream on him, to make it more embarrassing, but its Horny.. So just benching him after a failed defensive play would do)
3. Buy him out. (Well, if you are too scared to play rough, just give man his money and let him go)
4. Trade him to Houston for 2nd round pick (or some young player). (Again, even if Rockets find some team to take Anderson and their first, they are not gonna then give Knicks additional assets. Its too much. LIke I said, Anderson is a solid piece for a team who wants to win.)
5.Trade him for crappy garbage. (Prob Anderson). Like I've been saying. 3 years of Anderson >>> 2 years of Melo.
6. Just let him play out his contract.

if a team is giving melo 15-20mm per year then either:

1. they're dumb
2. melo averaged 20+ ppg

if it's #2 then lol that's not gonna happen. melo is behind the depth chart. kristaps is #1 and they signed thj to be #2. IF the option was #1 then i feel bad for the team that gives an average 3pt specialist to 15-20mm per year.

Lol teams are dumb if they sign a average 3pt specialist to $15-20m per year, but wants the team he is apparently a fan of, to trade for Ryan Anderson for $20m + a year.

Fixed.

What if you can something like:
2 1sts (2020, 2022,)
2 2nds (2018, 2019)
Hartenstein
Zhou Qi
Ryan Anderson

That's 4 picks and 2 young kids. Let Anderson and Noah expire together and get 40-50 million in capspace when they do. What are we competing for the next few years?

I definitely would have to do that deal. Even if those picks are in the 20s assuming we don't trade picks wed have 2 first rounders two years in a row and hopefully you land a gem out of one of 4 2nd rounders. In any on e of those years you could potentially move up in the draft. Right now its all about draft position for the Knicks

Absolutely. in additiion to draft positioning it should be all about stock piling draft picks, euro stashed players, and youth.

Teams like the celtics and hawks have multiple first and second round picks coming in over the next few years. the sixers have the lakers 1st and like 7 2nd rounders. we need to hoard as many as we can.

Houston could pay someone to take Anderson if they were willing to give that much up.

If the 1st rounders are on the table, everything else should be flexible and negotiable.

Wait, was all this speculation originally reported by Isola? Why are we even discussing this then? I actually didn't know he was the one who originally started this rumor.

No trade is happening.
