Is Cody a slow healer? He missed a ridiculous amount of time this summer with a knee bruise - basically from April to November. Now he's missed basically two months with a thigh bruise.

A) Fats doesn't know what the hell he is talking about, those are perfectly normal timelines for those injuries
B) Cody is a slow healer (definitely not questioning his toughness)
C) Our medical staff blows

Something strange is going on.

I just take comfort from the fact that MKG has stayed healthy this season. Maybe Cody's getting his pre-breakout injuries out of the way.

Medical staff blows. Badly.

If I were suddenly in charge of the Hornets that is the VERY fist thing I would try to change.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

That is a good point. How the hell is he out for so long with contusions?

The time for the bone bruise is normal, depending on the severity. The word "bruise," as I have pointed out before, really does not describe what can be a serious injury to the bone. Like a fracture, it has to heal.

The muscle contusion, on the other hand, seems like it should have healed by now. But remember, Cody came back for a day and that may have aggravated it.

Did he trade kicks with Chuck Norris or something? This is ridiculous

feel like we could narrow down this video to about 2 minutes of the best of Cody's dunks.

Bonnell said that both Clifford and Cho spoke to Cody separately to ensure him this was not some kind of demotion. This should allow Cody to avoid taking a beating from bigger centers and lets him feast on 2nd units. Cody joked he was happy not to have to play against Dwight 4 times a year.

That's good. It's important this trade does not do anything to take away from what Cody brings to the team.

So if Cody is going to the 2nd unit, we really need someone who can run the P&R with him as effectively as Bats does. Cody developed into such a threat off the roll last season.

Can Lamb run the P&R?

We need to get as much production out of Cody as we did last season.

Still think Cody needs to start, fits so much better with that group and is a proven difference maker in that role. Situationally, sure, there will be times where Dwight should probably start, but not regularly. Dwight should work really well with Frank too.

From ESPN Insider, "Who Are the NBA's Very Best Up-and-Coming Players?." by Jeremias Engelmann, in the caategory "Underrated High-Impact Players"
Cody Zeller | C | Charlotte Hornets

RAPM: 5.4
RPM: 3.3

Zeller, 24, isn't exactly on many people's radar when it comes to promising young players. Maybe that's because he's not among the league leaders in any particular box score category. However, Zeller isn't below average in any category either, except for passing (thanks to low turnover numbers, he still has a decent assist-to-turnover ratio).

Zeller is one of very few players with more than one block and one steal per 36 minutes; he doesn't turn the ball over and hits his shots at a very efficient 60 percent TS%.

Fittingly, the Hornets played 9.0 points worse per 100 possessions when Zeller was not on the court last season.

Confirmation bias here, as Cody is my favorite Hornet.

Cody needs to be playing with the first unit. I think we will see that happen. Maybe Dwight gets the start and the quick hook?

But Dwight shouldn't be in at the end of quarters so perhaps not... hmm

Dwight will start games, play hard, get his double double, and then go to the bench in favor of the efficiency expert.

I hope that all three of MCW, Lamb, and Monk practice a lot with Cody and Frank during training camp; with particular focus on running the pick and roll. Monk and Cody would be unstoppable together if he can quickly a strong pick and roll game. I don't expect to see that this year, but hopefully we'll see glimpses of it.

Setting the over / under for additional games Cody will miss at 5.5. Taking the over or the under?
