Trey Rodriguez is almost as big of a hack as Jason Kidd's son. This dude "reported" months ago that a deal with Portland was struck. Some of you are crazy gullible.

you're not answering it because there is no answer, a "triangle player" is not a real thing -- though if you wanted to list off things on what a "triangle player" is ..

- big guard
- can handle the ball
- can pass the ball
- can cut to the rim
- can come off screens
- can move without the ball

would you agree those would be characteristics of a "triangle player"? if so is that bad? if i'm wrong then please tell me what you think a "triangle player" is.

It is interesting that this question remains unanswered.

My guess is people think that Derek Fisher or BJ Armstrong are the only type of PGs allowed in the Triangle.

Players names have not been mentioned, but Moe Harkless is one of the names that gets thrown around.

If I had to guess, something like..

Melo for

Harkless/Leonard/Amino or Ed Davis and either a pick or Swainagan.

Chances are Harkless and Leonard are the 2 main contracts in the deal. I don't see us taking back Evan Turners contract.

Knicks have enough guards, don't need Turner. They could use a backup PF type. Harkless can probably play both the 3 and the 4 in today's NBA, right?

I looked him up: 6'8", 215. A little light, even for a new age NBA PF, no?

Bottom line from a good Ear: Lucky Number 7even will be delivered right around camp. Remember Rafer and Mike James? Traded out of nowhere with no time to meet our crew. That's a similar scenario. I cannot confirm all of this, so don't shoot the messenger. What I can confirm is that an Ear in NY has reiterated that Melo will attend training camp in NY, will say the right things but he will become a locker room/ media nightmare. That's his end game.

Ever watch "The Blacklist" There's some broken pieces that may come along with this. What are you willing to sacrifice for Hoodie Melo? Draft picks? An important role player?

Eric Gordon possibly involved...and we know SVG likes Anderson...

WOW. :o

if that happens then it will confirm forever what many already think of carmelo anthony.

It doesn't make sense though. How is that an "end game"?

Melo is thinking "If they don't trade me where I want, I'll just be a massive a$$hole and disrupt the locker room. That should motivate them to give me what I want and ruin their cap in the process"

Yeah I don't want Turner either. That is why I said I doubt his contract is apart of the deal.

I think a deal with Portland has to be something like Harkless+crap contract+pick. I'd like Vonleh or Swanigan, but Knicks roster is getting a little full to take on 3 or 4 guys like some are suggesting.

Knicks have 20 guys on the roster right now.

Obvious Candidates cut/D League w/o a contract:

Nigel Hayes
Xavier Rathan-Mayes

Those two, minus Melo = 17 players, which is the current allowed in the NBA.

Probably out if the Knicks take back two guys: Jarrett Jack - Sessions has a contract. Knicks have 3 PG's if you count Baker.

Jack gets cut after camp so the Knicks can fit on some guy like Leonard they don't need.
I have a hard time seeing any deal that isn't Harkless+Leonard+crap guys who get cut+ a pick, because the Knicks don't have the roster spots to put them anywhere. Maybe if they like one of the big guys coming back from Portland, like Vonleh, they cut a guy they just signed to a two way contract in Kornet? Would Mill's waste Dolan's money like that? I don't think so. I'd do it in a minute, but I don't think Mills would.

If Mills disagreed with Clarence's opinion so much, it is interesting that he kept him on.

you quoted the wrong guy
i don't think we picked him because he came from a good family. i think it's because of the triangle. and i will not dispute that he does have potential and talent, but i think the triangle was the #1 factor in this pick

I get a laugh every time someone says "he was drafted for the triangle" and now that phil isn't there he's a horrible fit.

triangle offense = fundamental basketball; team ball

DSJr. and Monk are all about getting theirs.

Why this is so difficult to understand is beyond me.

Yeah I don't get it either. It kind of reminds me of all the Justice Winslow arguments. Winslow was the best defender in that draft and we all knew it and teams were drooling over that alone. The same goes for Frank. His defense is off the chain, but unlike Winslow, his handles and shot are also on point. For Frank I believe it'll be more of can he run the offense or do we move him to two. I can see lineups with Jack, Frank, and THJ. For people to say he was chosen for the triangle that's actually a good thing for if you can run the triangle then hell you can run just about any offense.

It's going to be pretty sad if Morey screws the Rockets out of a possible title in adding an elite scorer like Melo because he insists on forcing Anderson into the trade.

Their window isn't unlimited and it probably is even shorter than the Warriors since the Rockets added an older CP3 so with them being so close and one star quality piece away from being on that level it would be a shame for their fans if he screws it up because Ryan effing Anderson...

Oh sure it tickles me he's such a stubborn douche so pissing away the chance but it's still a disgrace he's not seeing the facts.

They announcing the black security guard thats always on the court is retiring.

In all seriousness. If Frank is good I wont let it die down. I know who was riding DSJ. I think he will be good too. However the riding of another teams player is getting me tight. Frank has way more to show. Let it show first before you cry. People was doing this same thing about KP. Wanting the flashy guy like Deangelo. How did that turn out?

Thanks. I was about to post basically this same thing. Team ball, oh, and decision making and reads are supposed to be what makes the (revered/dreaded - pick one) triangle work. Hmm. Decision making, team oriented and committed to defense. Sounds like pretty good things to have in a PG.

You can have all those things and not run the triangle. Why is it only limited to the triangle?

Frank was a good pick. So was DSJ Monk or Mitchell.

We're all arguing when we should all be grateful this team finally (FINALLY!!!!!) attempted to find a long term solution in the backcourt.
