I'm high on KP, but you're probably right. Even if he is that good, we'll probably ship him out, and people will say he "shoots too many 3's", or some other manufacturered BS.

He screwed us over by forcing his way here, we screwed him over by never really building a complete team around him. After it's all said and done, at least we got to watch some great moments from Melo. I'm extremely curious as to how he will perform in OKC, should be an interesting team to watch for sure.

Basically.
Melo tried. He helped the youngins the best he could over the last few years. What more is there to ask. We sent him to a team he can go far into the playoffs with.
Let's wish him the best.

Its all for the best. For both sides.
Now hoping OKC can do some damage in the play-offs.
Melo killing Rockets and Russ sticking up to Durant would be hilarious.

Players can't force themselves anywhere. Teams make the decisions.
Look at what OKC did in trades this summer.
Teams must take responsibility for the transactions they complete.

It's a players league. Just because they don't make the trade call in the league office, don't think they don't influences trades.
Nearly every team who's player wanted out got a rather weak package.
That's player influence.

Players could also show a little patience if the ultimate goal is to end up in NY though right? That is a choice and it was Melo's. There's no denying that, love Melo all you want but him forcing his way out of Denver cost us some real assets. It's not a bash Melo opinion, it's just a fact. Melo wanted his money, I'm not begrudging for that, just merely pointed out that he cost a TON of assets that put us behind the eight ball at first. Eventually the whole Billups/Chandler fiasco cost us and some other various moves really hampered some of our flexibility.

Re: Carmelo Anthony Appreciation Thread
As a Fan Base we have always been tough on Melo ( I had my douche moments) . Truth is, it was the Organizations fault for Melo Not succeeding. Some of the problems from prior transactions and decisions made before he ever arrived in NY. these bad decisions didn't allow the Knicks to build the right talent around him. Thank you Melo for everything you have done for the Knicks. Thank you for being talented and strong enough to endure this madness. Rooting for Melo and the Thunder to take it all !!! Dude deserves a championship

My favorite game of the Melo/Amare era. Amare getting hurt leaves a lot of what ifs. Good luck to Melo on OKC, hope they take down the GSW.

Re: Carmelo Anthony Appreciation Thread
I didn’t like the trade we made to get him. But I’ll always feel like it was one we had to make. And we ended up with a better player than advertised. He was a better long range shooter and passer than given credit for.
We made some serious mistakes. First being the close of that 50+ win season. That team crumpled. That was it. That was our best and last shot with melo. We should have started entertaining trade offers right then. His value was at its peak too.
The next big mistake came when he opted out. We should have let him walk. Or at least took a sign and trade more serious.
The last big mistake was the no trade clause contract we gave him. To me that will always be one of the worst moves in franchise history.
I’m glad he’s gone. I became fed up to the point where I really didn’t want to watch games anymore. He became so lazy it was painful to watch. I hated how he would walk towards the ball with his hand out. Get the ball and just play within a 3 foot circle. Jab stepping and pump faking until he took a jump shot.
Honestly he’s left me with no meaningful memories. Sure he had some great scoring games but I don’t care about that. I also don’t like how it ended. But I’m just glad it’s over. This was just one big mess. I’m hoping for the best for the knicks. I don’t care what happens with melo from this point on.

No. Fans still don't get it. Look Houston. They never budged off of their package.
OKC is giving up what again?
This is the difference between competent front offices and what the Knicks do.
Remember the Tyson trade? Fast forward to what Denver got Mozgov.
We can go on and on about the shity trades the Knicks get down with.
