Imagine a Westbrook, Roberson, PG, Melo, Adams lineup with variations of Patterson, Grant, Christon, Abrines and Ferguson coming off the bench. They are switching everything, have a decent bench and can have PG or Russ on the floor at all times.

Yeah that is probably right but watching Felton try to guard even 3rd string PGs was painful last year. You're gonna want Christon to make the jump to 2nd string by mid season.

Kanter actually averages more points per minute than Carmelo but I love the move because obviously he will start now and get the 35-36 minutes Kanter should have been getting and will be a huge boost to the starting lineup plus he will dramatically help OKC's perimeter shooting issues. Presti is going all in on this year and I love it. Carmelo won a national championship at Syracuse and has been phenomenal when he has talent around him like in the Olympics so for those who think he can't be a great team player you just don't know basketball. He will blend right in within 20-30 games and we will all see he's fully capable of playing in a team concept exceptionally well.

Great trade.

Kanter's contract and playing style makes him net negative asset in my eyes.
He can contribute in regular season but in playoffs he was minus player. Mcdermott isnt special player either. I dont know talking about those 2 players "fantasy league" value. They worth next to nothing in playoffs especially against GSW.

So trade those 2 for Melo. Its just great work of Presti.

Melo is not the same player once he was but still its great trade for OKC.

*Melo would provide spacing to WB. WB did amazing things without proper spacing last year. Paint was clogged by 2 big men. Perimeter was bad at shooting too. Streaky shooter Oladipo was ok but Robertson?
Melo would help WB's game especially efficiency.
*Melo is still great as 3rd option. In Olympic he plays as a shooter/finisher and he does that great. In playoff time he'll be valuable.
*Melo can help 2nd unit to score. He always creat threats for opponents. And now having a 3 offensive stars in Thunder you can always have one of them on the floor.
*Melo should play at 4. In 12-13 season Knicks finished as 2nd seed in East. Melo played PF well with Tyson Chandler playing as C.
Melo didnt get any faster to play SF. Teams started to use more and more stretch 4s too.
Melo would play good at PF along S.Adams.

Kanter held back OKC.

*Especially in playoffs this team needs identity of high effort and defense.
*Trading points with Kanter held OKC back. Kanter has excellent foot work for big men but on defense he also let points to opponent.
*Melo isnt a great defender but you can hide him at 4. He offers more offense than Kanter too.

PG13 might stay here!
*Even if OKC lose against GSW at WCF's it might be enough for PG13 to sign an extension. He'll see Presti and teams recruiting skills and will.

I was just saying this to a buddy of mine. He'd be far more effective off the bench, and they could start Patterson who would be more of a defensive quarterback and spot shooter in the starting lineup.

I like:
Westbrook-Roberson-George-Patterson-Adams
6th- Carmelo

More than:
Westbrook-Roberson-George-Carmelo-Adams
6th- Patterson

But they'll all get minutes together so I guess it doesn't matter too much.

I'm hearing Morey is suggesting the NBA do away trades completely because like the MVP it's all based on perceived value.

It will be interesting to see how we rotate minutes at the small forward position between George, Roberson and Grant. I think we might even see Huestis get some burn. This is just a really weird roster that I don't think is finished yet. I believe Presti has additional trades he wants to make. Who plays small ball C? Melo?
