That is very hard to do at the fragile age of 18, you’re still a damn child. Imagine if Dwight went to college for a few years? I don’t think he would have been as mentally weak like he is today.

I don’t hate shaq or Dwight for leaving. We lowballed shaq and I really don’t like how Dwight left but like people already said, he gave us hope for a ring and some amazing playoff runs for some years here.

Age 18 seems just a little too young to be officially considered an adult. Age 20 seems better to be officially considered an adult.

For anyone not paying attention, Luka Dončić in tandem with Dragić lead his NT to damn championship title last week, at the ripe age of 18. Looking as good and determined as any player on the tournament.

I miss the Magic Dwight. I'm just thankful that we drafted him and not Emeka. That would've set our franchise back for many years. The Magic was always fortunate to have superstars such as Penny, Shaq, T-Mac, and Dwight. I'm hoping we'll find our superstar soon but right now it seems very unlikely unless we get a top pick again.

I feel no hate towards Dwight. He did give us many great years and made Magic basketball relevant. He was a top 2 player for a few years. He got robbed of the MVP by Rose. Hes a guaranteed hall of famer. I would imagine things would be different if we beat the Lakers in the finals. I remember always defending Dwight to casual fans that he was indeed a superstar and top player. I do hope that the Magic will retire his jersey one day.

Imagine if he would've stay with the Magic his entire career. He would be a legend here and have a statue.. Oh what could've been. Dwight messed up big time and I'm sure he does indeed regret his decisions.

Yeah, I think holding a grudge against him now is a bit petty. The dude messed up, he's now realising what we knew back then. It was a fun ride whilst it lasted, no hard feelings and I wish him well and a solid, calm end to a turbulent career but I wouldn't want to see him in a Magic jersey again.

Holding a grudge against him was always petty.

Outside voices definitely got to him. He decided he had to be Shaq, or had to have amazing post-moves to go down as a great center. And he had to go to a bigger market.

That team was built for him. Athletic, rebounding, big who could block the **** out of anyone that drove to the hole, surrounded by 3 point shooters. A pick and roll game that was so difficult to defend. That formula could have still worked, especially with Van Gundy. We might not have beaten the Heat, but we would have been a top 3 east team and had years of competitive basketball.

I look back and think we screwed up the rebuild. Once he told us he wanted out, we should have traded him, ala the Jazz and Dwill. We added to the Dwightmare by trying to convince him to stay.

I feel pretty much the same. Not sure if it's because I've gotten older or my outlook on life has changed, but I don't have it in me to hate on the guy or even root against him anymore. He was a major part of some of the most memorable sports moments of my life. I wish things went differently towards the end, but no one can change that now.

I hope future Magic players learn from the decisions that Penny, T-Mac and Dwight made.

When things get rough.... Ride it out with us man!

I'm over being petty about Dwight. I'm even in support of him returning to end his career here even if he's a shell of his former self. It's too bad things ended the way they did, but we ended up getting rid of him at the right time. It's just too bad our management failed in rebuilding after his departure.
