I get what you're saying.
I think Melo's FG was acceptable, he was shooting around .42-.43 which was decent, the other that was shooting well was Cope but he didn't get to play much iirc.
Nobody else was shooting well in that series maybe feeding his teammates more would be better maybe not but judging from the talents we had back then I don't think so, personally.
Our role players were not good, I don't disagree there.
I'll put it like this, when Melo shot at or above that %, we had a chance to win. ironically, melo shot the best in game 6 in the entire playoffs and that was the one we lost.
But I don't really put that series loss just on game 1. it simmered from the previous series. That one should not have gone 6. We needed that rest and should have put the old dudes on Boston away.
It was a trainwreck right before the Pacers series, JR doing JR thing with his elbow and Kenyon all black was an embarrassment, those 2 almost cost us the Celtics series, I'm surprised we played pretty decent against the Pacers after that.
Game 6 was a one man show game though, that block was amazing and miraculous and the refs weren't helping either.
It was so close IMO though winning game 6 wouldn't guarantee that we'll win game 7 but the momentum were surely
Be swinging our way.
We weren't losing game 7. Indy wasn't good enough to take two road wins.
