Ok, I found something about Carmelo I can appreciate. He knows how to get himself out of blowouts. Fortunately, after Carmelo took himself out of this game, Amare led us on a comeback and we won!

Thanks, Carmelo, I appreciate that very much.

Being the "best" player on the Knicks *since* Ewing being a great player. If it did, he would have had won more games and made it past the first round more. We drafted Ewing and let him down. We traded for Melo when we didn't have to and it made it impossible to acquire decent players. The Melo era was predictably disappointing.

People acting like Melo was some bum are just out of their minds. It was time to move on. And he's not that first tier guy like LeBron or KD. But damn, some of you are just off the deep end with the hate. And some of the same people here suck off Ron Baker here. The intelligence on NY fans is way overrated.

I put Melo slightly above Bernard King.

I would've loved to see what Ewing's Knicks would've looked like with a guy like Melo.

Still doesn't prove anything against my point that Melo was the best player we had since Ewing and deserves his own appreciation thread.

Melo didn't force the Knicks to give up the assets that were given to acquire him - so that fault can't be blamed on him. The Knicks never gave Melo a team around him that could succeed, we did one year and one year only, and no one showed up. Same thing with Ewing, the Knicks never gave him a true 2nd fiddle, John Starks was our 2nd best offensive player those years.

I think he meant Ewing's Knicks without Ewing, but instead there is Melo.

But he said, Ewing's Knicks with a guy like Melo. So you'd have to include him.

And if you added Melo, they would have won a championship. Just think of '94 in particular against Houston.

They would have beaten Houston one of two times I am pretty damned sure about that.
