Bulls - Tristian Thompson, Future unprotected 1st rd pick, and 2nd rd pick
Cavs - Robin Lopez and Bobby Portis
Cavs upgrade at the Center spot and lose a pick they probably don't care about trying to go all in for LeBron. Bobby Portis is more depth and has already proven to be a quality big man. He can shoot the 3, hustles hard, is on his rookie contract and is still improving.
Bulls create some breathing room with minutes in the rotation at the 4/5 spots. The picks will be valuable when LeBron leaves (or stays and is old, less effective) which will help our rebuild. Plus the Bulls might have better luck trading T. Thompson for a first rounder next off-season than what they've had trying to trade R. Lopez thus far for the tank/rebuild. Similar money going in and out.

No chance this gets an unprotected 1st. Too many variables for Cleveland to even consider this, especially for a marginal upgrade.
Cleveland could easily be terrible after next year and this pick ends up top 5. No way Lopez is worth it.

I wouldn't trade TT for Lopez. It's not really close in my mind either.
If you want to absorb Frye and a couple expiring minimum contracts for some second round picks, we can have that discussion.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Is RoLo an upgrade on TT? Because I don't think he is.

Yeah I'd keep TT over Lopez for us.
The added first is far fetched.

TT is the better rebounder and pick n roll defender for sure. RoLo is the better rim protector, better post offense, better mid range jumper, and with his size/length I'd give him the slight nod on 1 on 1 post defense as well. I don't think he's alot better at all but I would give the edge to Lopez personally.

Being a better PNR defender in a PNR league is pretty important though. The Cavs like TT. They don't want to trade him. They wouldn't move him for Lopez. They certainly wouldn't add value.

Great for the Bulls, the only thing it does for CLE is give them a traditional center over a younger more athletic 4 who can play center otherwise it's a bad deal for the Cavs
