Already have a discussion started in the media thread, but if anyone wants to discuss this separately for a minute before the merge, go at it.

John is a hell of a leader.

Loved that interview.

He's right. A lot of the faces of the NFL don't want to touch this.

Ben Roethlisberger had to put out a statement talking about how he couldn't sleep. SMH.

I agree with John that nothing will change if the stars in a league dont push it. But the problem is Trump has made this (and everything else he touches) a situation of "you are are either with us or against us". Which essentially means Brady and Rogers only have one choice of opinion- Either support Kapernick or come across as a racist. So this is the dangerous thing for the NFL....what if Rogers and Brady dont see the police brutality issue, which is Kaps real issue, the same way as Kapernick? No one is protesting the flag...because all of yall that have been going to games know that before this issue with kneeling...most of the time people were quietly or openly talking during the anthem...and no one was pissed. Hell most of the time people just waiting to yell OHHHH!!! When that part hits.

So what issue should Brady and Rogers support Kap on? Unity or Police Brutality? We all agree on unity...but we are not all in agreement on the root cause of police shootings. IMO- People have lumped Mike Brown and Trayvon in the same category even when the only thing they have in common is that a black kid was killed by a non-black and the shooter wasn't convicted. But those two kids couldn't be more different IMO and those cases are also different IMO. The NFL has a real problem right now. They have a open ended debate that has evolved into something else all together because the president used this issue to make a point about black atheletes and their supposed "lack of respect for America" or "hate for America" because they not standing during a "PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE". I appreciate what John said...but what does it really mean?

Also the NBA players are such better shape than the NFL guys when it comes to tackling (pun intended) social issues. The players (especially the stars) are so wealthy that if one gets a big contract, takes a stand and gets blackballed they will be ok. Think about what if Otto was like F that and stood for some issue that was controversial...he has 100 million dollars...I think he will be ok. Some of these guys that are taking a knee in the NFL are actually young enough, not on guaranteed contacts and make so little when it comes to the money they will have for the rest of thier life , that they cant truly afford to be out the league over a protest. It makes what the NFL guys are doing that much more admirable...but it also means (IMO) that you better be all in on this because it could cost you your financial future. There is real risk in the NFL all most all of the stars...John Wall could say DAMN Near anything because he has IDGAF money...

My thought is Aaron and Tom dont know nor care enough about the police issues with people of color to say anything in Kaps defense or in support of his cause. Aaron and Tom know and care enough that they dont want a man to lose his job over his opinion or protest regarding an issue, regardless of the issue.
