Yes, but the point was more that he was able to co-exist with other guards and he had a small guard on the team with him. That was a direct response to your Chalmers/Worthy comment, yes?

Magic's Lakers had some shooters; Cooper could shoot, Scott could shoot, he had spacers. More than anything, the wing finisher he'd have would probably be able to shoot the 3, that's all.

top5 pg? roflmao cant even contain the other elite pgs in the league where spurs have to chuck green or kawhi onto his assignment to keep them from scoring, while hiding him on the supposed weakest link on the court still allows that weak link to score on him

Well, this one didn't age well... every single champion in the last 3 years since I posted this thread have had an all-NBA/all-star level PG...

It might have something to do with the changing NBA, as well as a pure luck of the previous sample I used. Go figure...

Only San Antonio is elite without an All-Star point guard, which shows how amazing Kawhi and Pop are. Minnesota could be a surprise, too.

if you look at nba champions of the past star wings have been a common denominator in most if not all of them.
Wings have a great mix of skill and size that allows them to thrive against different matchups.

As far as point guards go, they preferably should be able to shoot at an above average rate. Guys like derek fisher and chalmers were championship PGs because they could hit jumpshots and play some pesky defense. For a guy to be a main option (1st or 2nd on the team) at PG and have title aspirations, they need to be more scoring oriented as oppossed to being pass first guys. That is because having guys that can create their own shot and do it at an efficient rate is valued much, much higher in the playoffs than guys that can create for others even if it is at an elite level.
