Do you guys think you'll have interest in Noel in the off-season? I was looking around the league an I think you guys are one of the only places where he would unquestionably start, plus he's young enough to fit with your core, and a good fit to boot.

Me personally, i would love it (If he could be had for a reasonable price). My issue is that even though i would love to give him a shot, i dont think he deserves the amount of money that he is reportedly looking for. With Dallas deciding not to start him this upcoming season, i think he will only be getting spot minutes, like the Mav's way of punishing him for not taking the deal they offered. So i dont see him getting to really show the league what he can do when given proper minutes with them, and most likely lowering his value even more.

As for the Suns being interested....... i doubt it. We passed on him in the draft for Len, and even though in my eyes Noel has shown more than Len, reports were that the reason we passed on him in the draft was because our super #1 medical staff red flagged Noel.

I think it's a good fit, and what I've seen from Len.. Noel's definitely proven himself more in this league.

I'm not sure either guy will get paid as much as we may have projected a season or two ago, it seems like the market's settling back down again and looking around the league, most place have their starting spot filled, but I think if you guys are going to continue to go the Len route, you need to give him the reigns starting over Chandler and see what he can do. If he can't win the starting position now I feel like that's a red flag to signing him long term.

For me it depends on where our draft pick lands and who we select, if we draft a center, i doubt we pay what he will want

Yeah that's the other aspect, and the reason a lot of Bulls fans aren't too keen on paying him, because there's a high chance we land one of Ayton/Bagley/Bamba and suddenly he's the 3rd big.

Where you guys finish, that'll be an interesting one. I love your pieces, but it's a big jump from the bottom 6 or so teams to the next tier. That makes it possible to land one of the bigs, and it'll make for a damn exciting core for you guys.

If not, I'd have Sexton high on your radar. Athletic PG who loves to push the pace, plays like a dog, good defensively and enjoys facilitating the rock. Would be a great fit.

Completely agree with Booker, the suns should be able to out work other teams with stamina and hustle being so young. Last year there was to many times that they just plain got out worked. With all the youth we should be able to run around other teams.

If we wanted Noel we would have made an offer, we had near max available if he took Len's spot.

It seems pretty clear (to me at least) that a big part of the problem with Noel is between the ears. He is not a good fit in that sense, and I would not expect the Suns to bring him in under almost any circumstances.

I don't think Noel is in our plans for center. I imagine we're looking to either draft one of the top 2 centers or make a play at Boogie. That's my assumption.

I'd prefer to go for Nurkic over Noel, but Nurkic will be a restricted free agent.

Noel has too many holds in his game. Bamba, who is projected as the 5th pick in thos draft, has all the strengths of Noel, yet is taller, longer, smarter, and with a better offensive base.

Which are Noel's attributes other than jumping a lot?
Whenever I have seen him play, he has not a very good IQ level.
He showed not being a good teammate in Philly.
He has no jump shot.
He is not a good passer.
He does not command a double team ever, as he is no threat at the post.

So, he can jump and run, so he can rebound, block shots and arrive quickly in a transition. Other than that, he is a distrous fit in XXI century basketball.
We already have Chandler, who has no range.
We have Williams, who has no range.
Len has range, only he needs to get confidence.

No interest in Noel.

If all goes well, we will pick up our future TRUE center in this years draft and build around him + Booker and Jackson.

The last thing McD is going to do next summer is call up Rich Paul and start negotiating a Noel contract. Noel left because he wants a near max offer.
Spoiler:
And please don't bring LeBron into this.

I wouldn't say its out of the question they go after noel because his defensive skill set could work with their current team.

But there are a ton of factors that should be worked out by next year that would prevent it like:

They draft a center in the lotto.

Chriss and/or bender are effective at center this season.

Len plays well and is a cheaper option.

They have trouble clearing cap space needed to land him.

Noel doesn't play well or gets hurt.

IDK if it is gonna be possible, but I would love to watch a "supersmall" lineup formed by our 5 best basketball players...

Ulis, Bledsoe, Booker, Jackson and Warren.

Against some bench units that five can work for us. Just an idea.

If the Warriors run Curry/Klay/Iggy/KD/Green, it's worth a shot.

I bet Watson would be willing to try it out too.
