I don't see any silver lining drafting 10-16. But, if we show great improvement, but still miss out then I reckon it can still be a win to me.

Exactly, that's why we should tank for Luka Doncic.

The only way this team would suck that bad to get a shot at Doncic is if they trade away AG/Elf/Vooch and Isaac because this team is too good to be a bottom feeder anymore. And, if they did suck that bad with the talent we have, then that means every young player on this team regressed this year. Nobody wants that to happen.

Yeah, the coverage sucks ass.

Dante having to chase players around the facility during official Facebook feed was pathetic too. PR department sucks major balls so far.

That's because Alex Martins isn't doing his job, instead interfering with rebuild and telling GM what to do.

I heard they even switched toilet paper from Cottonelle to Angel Soft. Damn that Martins is ruining everything!!!!

Yeah.... tanking is not as easy as one might think. You don't just say .... "aight guys... i want you to half ass this season cuz we're trying to find players to replace you with". and trading away useful assets is no always a good idea. Players grow... additions are made and at some point you are no longer in the tanking discussion without making it absolutely blatant.

It can be done, shipping Vuc, Fournier, Biz, Speights and Simmons out.

I bet this still wouldn't be a bottom 10 team.

I wouldn't say we are too good to be a bottom feeder. It's more like there are too many "better" bottom feeders. Orlando is still an awful team and we are basically locked into treadmill, late lotto, just outside playoff, hellhole territory for the foreseeable future.

Payton/Hezonja/Ross/Gordon/Birch
Augustin/Afflalo/Iwundu/Isaac/Rudez

That lineup is NOT a bottom 10 team?

and that would be assuming that you are trying to ship them out for picks or peanuts. otherwise i hope we aren't making trades that would have us being shafted. lol... so yeah... won't be easy.

Doesn't matter, management already made the decision not to tank... and that's probably going to hold until at least around all star break.$hit would really have to hit the fan quickly for there to be a bunch of trades early.

Plus as much as I love Doncic's game, I think the worst thing you can do as an NBA fan is get locked into drafting one guy. If he is the next Lebron, you probably aren't getting him. And the Magic already have gotten 2 HOF draft picks, so I don't think our luck is necessarily going to pay out anytime soon.

Reality is that you CAN get a star player at pick 10, 11, 12. It happens. So while the prior regime may not have tanked well, they still got us enough assets to have a rather talented team. The Magic simply need to find that lead scorer and it does not have to be done through tanking.

Unfortunately, the reality is also that tanking is a much more proactive way to find a star via the draft. There is an element of control there where a team can better position itself unlike with what Hammond did in Milwaukee, floundering aimlessly in the 7-10 seed range until he stumbled upon Giannis and had bad injury luck in 2014 that dropped the Bucks to the bottom of the league which got them Parker.

I'd rather have a management team actively trying to a find a star instead of putting together a mediocre team year after year on the NBA treadmill with the only hope of escaping being a star falling into their lap via blind, dumb luck. I can be patient during an intentional tanking effort but my patience will not last forever with multiple seasons where the best case scenario is a quick first round playoff exit with no potential to make significant improvements.

Going to make his 1 slam dunk this season all the more spectacular. Other note, Mario the only guy who got the rebound and pushed the ball all the way down court on the drill, which echoes his comments Monday, that Vogel likes him at the 4 getting the rebound and pushing the ball down court fast. It is looking like Frank has a role for Mario already picked out.

The reality is that the league is implementing anti-tank rules to get rid of treadmill teams. Additionally this Magic team simply will not be bad enough to tank into the top 3-5 anyway. So by throwing it all away for a losing culture again, the Magic would not accomplish much this year. It is better to develop a team that learns how to win games.

Training camp always = injuries for this team. They're getting conditioned back into shape and usually there are a number of injuries that occur because of that. Hopefully none are more than a few weeks, but it always sets certain players behind.

There has to be something we're doing wrong though. I feel like we get way too many of these injuries compared to other teams in training camp.

I've really started to love the idea of Mario as a 4. His shooting and passing from there would do a lot to open the floor up.

I just hope we see it on the court this season.

Are we seriously not gonna get any interviews or more information from these workouts? I understand the organization usually keeps things tight to the vest but they usually have some interviews after practice and stuff. What's up with that???
