So while the prior regime may not have tanked well, they still got us enough assets to have a rather talented team. The Magic simply need to find that lead scorer and it does not have to be done through tanking.

Unfortunately, the reality is also that tanking is a much more proactive way to find a star via the draft. There is an element of control there where a team can better position itself unlike with what Hammond did in Milwaukee, floundering aimlessly in the 7-10 seed range until he stumbled upon Giannis and had bad injury luck in 2014 that dropped the Bucks to the bottom of the league which got them Parker.

I'd rather have a management team actively trying to a find a star instead of putting together a mediocre team year after year on the NBA treadmill with the only hope of escaping being a star falling into their lap via blind, dumb luck. I can be patient during an intentional tanking effort but my patience will not last forever with multiple seasons where the best case scenario is a quick first round playoff exit with no potential to make significant improvements.

The reality is that the league is implementing anti-tank rules to get rid of treadmill teams. Additionally this Magic team simply will not be bad enough to tank into the top 3-5 anyway. So by throwing it all away for a losing culture again, the Magic would not accomplish much this year. It is better to develop a team that learns how to win games.

Exactly
Even if we pick in the 10-15 region in the draft next year we can a good player.
There are some interesting prospects in that range

Going to make his 1 slam dunk this season all the more spectacular. Other note, Mario the only guy who got the rebound and pushed the ball all the way down court on the drill, which echoes his comments Monday, that Vogel likes him at the 4 getting the rebound and pushing the ball down court fast. It is looking like Frank has a role for Mario already picked out.

I've really started to love the idea of Mario as a 4. His shooting and passing from there would do a lot to open the floor up.

I just hope we see it on the court this season.

I really like Mario's leadership and fiery nature! You can hear him say "Faster and faster, lets go"!

He's really standing out on this team so far!

Do not understand what guys like Josh Robbins are doing at training camp if it isnt to give the fans a closer look at whats happening. We've have like five 15 second long video clips and like one very thin article and thats it. I dont need you to write anything, just film like 15 minutes of footage and upload it. DONE! It really is not that hard.

You first need to acquire legitimate talent worth "teaching how to win". You make it sound like you'd rather have barely recruited seniors from a small time college program like Wichita State who "know how to win" on your NBA team because they win a close game over a Kentucky team packed with coveted 5 star freshman recruits. Talent trumps all when it comes to building NBA contenders.

Many of us believe we have legitimate talent in gordon/payton/isaac/simmons/evan and just need a few more pieces.

And nothing i said makes it sound like your comparison. Completely irrelevant.

I think a lot of people want that instant gratification.... and who doesn't. but not everyoneS talent will come to full fruition when we want it to. And there are tons of factors for why things haven't happened the way want it to. They need experience... their body isn't ready.... they haven't gotten the opportunity....they weren't mentally ready to tackle the league (looking at you hezonja)... so many reasons. And i think we are plagued with a few of those problems. Needless to say... i do believe we are going to be much better than people might be giving them credit for. I think we are filled with talent and the problem will end up being... we have too much (great problem to have) and how we make the puzzle fit together. Do we have elite talent... probably not.... but we do have the making of a great foundation.

Elfrid comes off a lot more personable around the middle of the video to the end.
