OT- Bonds

Why do pitchers pitch to the guy? I lost a lot of respect for Wakefield when he let the human pin cushion hit one out. I can see if the game is on the line, the bases are loaded... But if there are two outs no one on why? It's not like the Giants have anything else on their team.

Is it a pride thing? these guys think they can beat him? Is it that they are all on the juice so they feel no ill will?

Just walk him or plunk him in the butt.

Well they are major league pitchers and professionals. For them issuing a walk is detrimental to them and their stats. They dont care if he breaks the record or not

Because it doesn't make sense to walk him. If you walk him, you are ensuring that you add a baserunner. If you pitch to him, you have a 60% chance of getting him out.
