2017 Season Game Thread..... Game 11 Bucs at Falcons 11/26

Well thanks to Hurricane Irma, the Bucs opening game at Miami has been postponed. The NFL has moved the game to week 11, which both teams have a bye in week 11. So essentially the Bucs and Dolphins start their seasons on a bye.

Next Sunday Sept 10th the Bucs will host the Bears at 1pm.

The Bucs won their home opener and first game of the season, beating the Bears 29-7 yesterday.

The Bucs travel to Minnesota to take on Dalvin Cook and the Vikings, Sunday at 1pm. Vikings QB Sam Bradford is doubtful, Case Keenum could start his 2nd straight game in place of Bradford.

Let's not let Case Keenum beat us.

Sam Bradford has been ruled out Sunday for the Vikings, Case Keenum will make his second start in Bradford's place.

Vikings up 21-3 at the half, injuries and no pass rush from Bucs front four are killing us. Bucs with our 4 starters on defense before game, lost two for the game in first half.

I'm pretty sure GM Jason Licht is kicking himself for passing on Dalvin Cook.

He definitely should, especially with Martins suspension and having a good year then bad year since he's been in the league. It should have been a no brainer when Cook was there at 19. After not taking Cook, I wanted Licht and the Bucs to move up into the 3rd round to get Kareem Hunt. I love the Chris Godwin pick, but moving back up for Kendall Beckwith was a head scratcher. Imagine coming out of that 3rd round with Godwin and Hunt.

Oh well, the Bucs will have the 3rd or 4th most money to spend in FA next offseason. I want them to make a run at Le'Veon Bell, who hasn't been able to work out an extension with the Steelers that last two seasons.

MLB Kwon Alexander has been ruled out for the second straight week. McCoy, David and Grimes are questionable. DE Jacques Smith will make his season debut.

Bucs lead 14-0 with 2 minutes in the first qtr. Winston has thrown TD passes to Evans and Howard(career first).

Correction score is currently 13-3, Folk with a missed extra point and missed FG. Should be 17-3 if he could make kicks.

Bucs win 25-23 on a game winning FG from Nick Folk. I was very neverous, Folk was 1/3 FG and a missed extra point before the game winner. Bucs 2-1 on the season, Giants drop to 0-4.

It'll be a short week for the Bucs, as the Patriots come to town Thursday night. The Patriots are 2-2 and their defense has been torched in 3 of 4 games. This game will be Doug Martin's season debut. The offense must get into rhythm and take advantage of a not so good defense. We need a lot from Doug Martin, and Koetter needs to get DeSean Jackson more involved.
I'm hoping David and Alexander return from this game, the biggest key on defense, it getting pressure on Brady.

Patriots win 19-14, Nick Folk goes 0/3 FGs 31 yds, 49 yds, 56 yds. He makes the two under 50 yds and Bucs win by 1. Licht and Koetter thought they had the kicking game figured out going with the vet and they couldn't have been more wrong. Folk has missed 5 FGs this season, only missed 4 last season and 3 the season before. In the last two games he is 2-7. That's 5 FGs missed in 4 days.

The kicking game is the difference of the Bucs being now 2-2, instead of 3-1.

Cards up 24-0 at the half. Mike Smith's defense is beyond terrible. Koetter continues to stall the offense.

Cards won 38-33. Two years in a row the Bucs have gone to Arizona to play the Cards and get their arse's whipped. The Cards won both games, out scoring the Bucs 78-40. Mike Smith's defense again exposed badly by Cards coach Bruce Arians.

I think Koetter needs to make staff changes on defensive side before next season. Definitely DBs coach John Hoke, who has our CBs play 10 yards off the line of scrimmage. Teams constantly burn us with little slant routes, knowing our CBs play so soft. And possibly DC Mike Smith, who fails over and over at in game adjustments.

Bills win with a late FG, 30-27. Mike Smith's defense continues to be terrible. 174 rush yards for the Bills. 3 straight losses for the Bucs. Kiss the playoffs goodbye.

Bring back Jon Gruden!
